Yikes.

Broadway must hate the beginning of the new school year as much as kids do.

I guess I wasn't paying attention to Fun Home last week, since I knew the final performance was sold out. Too bad they didn't have a better week.

Wow, a .5% dip for The Book of Mormon? When are we going to expect a closing notice? ![]()

You joke, but people do ask that almost every week.

Damn, why such a big drop for SOR?
Posted: 9/12/16 at 3:24pm
WOOF School of Rock and Waitress. Anything going on there besides kids going back to school?

Anybody know what The Humans weekly nut is? It really seems they should have recouped by now,

I get the huge drop on many of the shows due to summer being over and people being back to school, and I can see Jersey Boys' increase being possibly due to it having more attention now that its days are officially numbered, but anyone know why Chicago and Wicked had such big increases this week when so many other shows had drops? Wonder went on there.

I think the better question would be what was going on with Wicked seeing such a sharp decrease in attendance the past few weeks. Their attendance this past week looks more like returning to business as normal.

I told numerous people I was seeing that show last week and none of them knew what I was talking about. Even when I explained it was based on the Bing Crosby movie, they had vague knowledge of it but still no real idea what it's about. And I suspect anyone who does know the movie associates it with Christmas, and doesn't want to see it when it's 90 degrees outside.

Will HOLIDAY INN even make it to opening night? Good lawd.

I'm sure it will considering the subscribers but as I was sitting at Studio 54 last week, seeing how empty the mezz was, I thought to myself, "is this going to finish the entire run?" I don't think it's going to get raves and become a hit.

you do realize, do you not, that it is a Roundabout show. The subscribers will be along in due course.

You clearly forget It is produced by a non-profit house and the numbers mean very little. Between underwriting subsidies and a plethora of subscribers, they will be just fine.

In addition to the information about subscribers. I looked at the grosses for some past Roundabout musicals for comparison:
She Loves Me
227K-1st week; 337K-2nd week; $397K-3rd week
On the 20th Century
228k-1st week; 273K-2nd week; $377-3rd week
Drood
176k-1st week; 223k-2nd week; 130K-3rd week
Holiday Inn
165K-1st week; 276K-2nd week
All of the first weeks were not a full 8 performances

I hope THE CHERRY ORCHARD does better for Roundabout. I know RTC is a non-profit, but it's still sad to perform for a pretty empty house.

Looks like Paramour may not make it to Thanksgiving. I simply loved the show when I saw it (before the changes were made), but it just isn't getting enough people in the seats.

OH, thanks for sharing this. Forgot the other RTC musicals started slowly too. Holiday Inn could pick up a lot more if it gets good reviews, like She Loves Me did.

What "look" is that? The "look" I see is that they made enough money this past frame for you to comfortably live on for a year. I wish it would close but it won't anytime soon and the notion that it would close before the holidays is pure nonsense.

I think they've made enough to run for a little while longer, but unless it can draw more people after these changes, I don't see it staying open by the holidays.

Cirque has a five year lease and very deep pockets. Paramour is profitable, and even if it weren't, it's sticking around for a while.

I wonder how long wicked will last after frozen opens.
