We recorded the album at Power Station (formerly Avatar) in two studios - one for the orchestra, and one for the vocals.
Mr. Nowack said: "WOW what a beautiful recording. That overture is one of the most sumptuous things put to a cast album in many a year. It has an openness that so few modern recordings have, whether the reverberation is natural or syntheticit sounds great.
Where was it recorded?"
Schubox said: "Definitely agree with this. I couldn’t find the words to describe it, but she almost sounded quiet, even though I had no trouble hearing her. It just seemed like her voice didn’t have that strong quality to it. Thought she was great though"
I actually loved that about Ambrose's Eliza on stage. I'm not sure how I can best describe this, but it felt like I was being drawn into everything she did in a very immediate and intimate way. Kelli O'Hara's performances under Sher's direction have a similar quality. Some of this has to do with the Beaumont being a huge stage and Sher not favoring huge amplification. Sher's style with musicals, and often with plays, is to invite the audience to actively enter the world on stage, rather than that world being delivered to them as passive spectators.

I have been waiting for this album, so great to know it's shipping early. Just wish I had seen this thread before today. Hoping I'll still get it quickly. Saw the show from the front row during one of the last previews and wanted to see it again immediately after it was over. Loved it.

I ordered from amazon. I'll wait a bit. I can brag about delayed gratification.

Ordered last night. Shippped this morning. Thanks! Fingers crossed it arrives before I get home Friday or at least before I leave again on Sunday.
Does anyone know who's offering this digitally tomorrow? Amazon doesn't appear to be, and it's not appearing at all on iTunes. I'd love to buy preferably with digital booklet, but it seems like that's a rarity these days.

I'm also worried that it has not shown up on iTunes to be available for preorder as well. I know the original notice and a post here stated it will definitely be available on iTunes tomorrow, so I just have to hope that it happens.
There are plenty of times when an album isn't available for preorder on iTunes - it'll still show up at midnight.
Frozen is a recent example - they released a few promotional singles, but with different art. Not as part of a preorder of the cast recording.

Thanks. I usually don't anticipate things on iTunes, except one other time and it was available to preorder well in advance, so this is new to me.
It will be available on iTunes and Amazon MP3 at (or around) midnight.
Just by chance I’m off tomorrow (yeah!!!!), have a little “medical procedure” to deal with (boooo!!!!). It’ll give me a chance to download it in the morning before I head back to the VA and start listening to it as I’m waiting for them to call my name. Not excited about the procedure. At all. VERY excited about the cast album!!!

Thank you for the information!

Spotify typically arrives several days/weeks later. The producers understandably want people to pay for it.
We don't post on Spotify within (at least) the first year, generally — with rare exceptions.
Thanks Diva! Super helpful. =)
