Many theatrical songs, when written and performed well, can give a person chills and goosebumps. What are some songs, performed by whom, that give you this feeling?
The one that first comes to my mind is Bernadette Peter's rendetion of "Last Midnight" on the 'Into the Wood''s DVD.
Tell me on a sunday and unexpected song in the new revival of tell me on a sunday...
Epiphany from Sweeney can be frightening and chill-inducing. On the OBCR, it is fantastic. Also, It's Hard to Speak My Heart from Parade is so touching.
Petrified - Raul Esparza
I Don't Care Much - Adam Pascal, Raul Esparza, Alan Cumming
Defying Gravity
Rose's Turn - Bernadette Peters
... to name a few. Chills every time.
When "Old Red Hills" is reprised at the end of Parade.

Brian Stokes Mitchel singing The Impossible Dream
I can't believe I forgot that one!
I think the two that really give me the chills are Coalhouse's Soliloquy in Ragtime by Brian Stokes Mitchell and Tell My Father on the Civil War recording by Kevin Sharp. I know I did not see the performances of these two shows, but the passion, especially in Mitchell, almost brought tears to my eyes as it was like I could feel what they were.
Jesse L. Martin or Mark Richard Ford singing "I'll Cover You: Reprise".
BSM's "Impossible Dream".
I have to agree with Rose's Turn, Old red hills finale in parade and Defying Gravity.
Also: One Day More and the Finale in Les Miz
Tonight (Quintet and Chorus) From WSS

"Gimme Gimme" from Millie.
I cant even listen to it in the car without getting chills.
Its such a powerful and meaningful song.
Impossible Dream - Man of La Mancha
I'll Cover You: reprise - Rent
Defying Gravity (only in person) - Wicked
Tomorrow (don't ask me why) - Annie

I'm not a huge fan of the song or performer, but for some reason John Barrowman singing "Marry Me a Little"

"Send in the Clowns"- A Little Night Music

Definetely JamieHat the Old Red Hills reprise gives me that spine tingling feeling. Also the Act I finale with the cakewalk.
