I also saw her last night at MSU. She was truly spectacular.

"Everybody up in here want a McGriddle!"

"Mommy, your singing makes my ears cry."

I'm a fan of hers (don't ask me why) but I just can't see her as Roxie. I'm not ever a fan of stunt casting, but I think I hate this one just a little bit more.

She's more of a TV star, but I saw Christy Carlson Romano in a touring production of The Sound of Music when she was younger.
re: Broadway for Halloween
 Aug 18 2006, 11:45:50 AM
My junior year of college, I went as "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof". I wore all black with ears and a tail and then fashioned a chair sort of thing out of carboard covered in foil. I put arm straps on it and wore that on my back.

It only cost me 1.50 for the cardboard. Three cheers for cheap Halloween costumes!

My college is doing "Wonderful Town" in the fall. Any suggestions for a good audition song?

Just a plug for the Broadway Theatre Project.

It's intense and you'll be pretty drained at the end of it, but it was by far the best experience I have ever had at a summer theatre camp. It's open to high schoolers and college age students, so it really covers a wide range. Some of the seminars were a little boring to sit through as a college student, because they pertained mostly to the high schoolers. But all the classes were great, I got some amazing vocal training and got much more c

You can also call the Vineyard and see if they need ushers if you want to see the show. You really don't have to do much but tear tickets and give out programs and you get to see the show for free. I was in the second row, center when I did ushered and it was a great seat!
re: DVD?

In that case, did anyone record it that wants to send me a copy? I missed it because I'm running the light board for the worst production of "The Odd Couple" EVER. I'll gladly pay you for it!
DVD?

I apologize if there is already a topic on this.

Does anyone know if there will be a DVD of "The Light in the Piazza" performance that was on PBS last week?

keeping healthy on tour?
 Jan 5 2006, 10:22:08 AM
I apologize in advance if there is already a post about this. I'm new to this whole message board thing.

I'm about to go out on tour with a children's show and was wondering if you have any tips for staying healthy? Eating right, sleeping well and lots of water are a must, but does anyone have any other handy tips for keeping sickness away?

Someone may have already mentioned this, but the Trailer Park Lounge is located on 23rd just off of 8th. The food is alright (although I was disapointed that they only serve tater tots and no fries. I HATE tater tots). I was staying in a hotel down the street and as far as I noticed, it was packed every night. I'm sure they don't go for the food, but it was a fun place to be for an hour or two.

I met Frank Wildhorn at the Broadway Theatre Project this summer and he didn't strike me as the greatest person to work for either.
re: Broadway Songs to Work out to...

I don't work out to Broadway songs very often, but if I'm having a day where I just really do not want to go to the gym, I find they are a bit of a movtivator. Listening to them reminds me of the business I'm going into and looking your best in this business is a must. That helps get me off my lazy rump and onto the elliptical.
re: Ben Vereen

I loved Mr. Vereen in Wicked. I had a chance to work with him at the Broadway Theatre Project two weeks ago and he was so gracious and welcoming. Given all his success, I was amazed how humble and down to earth he was. Definitely the kind of performer I aspire to be.
re: original rent cast
 Jun 29 2005, 09:04:50 PM
Thanks for all your answers to my question. :) I absolutely love the show and can't believe I wasn't that familiar with it before. I've been hitting up the movie blog every couple of days to get updates and I think it's going to be great. I love Tracie and Idina together. I think they make a great onscreen couple and just from the trailer and they little movie snippets on the blog, I think they are going to be great. Can't wait until Nov 11!

I am a new Rent fan. Does anyone know why some of the original members chose not to do the movie?
