Some inspired casting choices.

"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert

This is amazing. I wish this would happen - at least for a one performance benefit. Incredible casting.

Not really a big fan of Elaine Paige as Isobel, but Rebecca Luker is PERFECT casting for Cora and I'm still laughing at Boyd Gaines as Carson.

When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad

I'd rather see Norbert Leo Butz and Kelli O'Hara as Bates and Anna than BDJ and CK-B.

The great British stage actress Sara Kestelman would be my choice for Isobel.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

I'm also on the fence about Harriet Harris as Mrs Hughes, mostly because I want Mrs Hughes to run this Abbey, but I don't feel the same way about Harriet Harris. And even though Mrs Hughes is capable of giving the sass, I think you need someone a little more proper than Harris.

I love this list, as well as their list for a musical version of THE HELP.

I think LuPone would be a better O'Brien.

Act 1 number "Your Dream is My Dream Now", which means you have to cast Gwen too.

I think LuPone would be a better O'Brien.

A big belter's song about soap goes without saying.

The song would have to be called "Slip 'N Fall"

No, if it's LuPone, the song MUST be called Don't Cry For Me Cora Crawley.

That would be her Act 2 opener.
