Does anyone have a list of the Broadway stars in the rather awkward "What the World Needs Now Is Love performance at the Democratic Convention?
It was good to see all the folks together, but I don't know why they couldn't have just sung together rather than passing the mic around with each performer seemingly trying to one-up the other. Too many stars and egos.

I loved this so much! The cheer for Audra was great. There were a ton of faces I knew but not names... I remember when the original video for the song was released, someone did a line-by-line breakdown of who was who; that was super helpful. Mystery poster, please help us again! :)
It was hilariously funny when you saw each of them trying to grab the Mic off the other (but understandable). Overall, I enjoyed it though.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
First thing I noticed, idina and Stephanie being on the opposite side of the line.
i thought it was cute. I loved Carmen and Stephanie standing next to eachother.

Given the themes of the convention they really should have Ms. Streisand come out and sing Children Will Listen from Into The Woods before Hillary's entrance with a cutain rising with 100 children of all nationalities behind her.
Idina Menzel, Lena Hall, Melissa Errico, Audra McDonald, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Seth Rudetsky's family, (skip), Jon Viktor Corpuz, Darren Criss, Richard Kind, (3 skips), Debra Messing, Kristen Bell, Adrienne Warren, Tyne Daly, (6 skips), Anika Larsen, Michael Urie, Len Cariou, (4 skips), Montego Glover, (skip), Alice Ripley, Ben Vereen, B.D. Wong, Carmen Cusack, Stephanie J. Block, Liz Callaway, Anne Hampton Callaway, Rosie Perez
Someone who's better with names can hopefully fill in the blanks.
The first skip is Maryann Hu. Not sure the next 3. After Tyne Daly is Sharon Gless. Skipping again, but the two before Anika Larsen are Wilson Cruz and Paul Castree. After Len, I'm skipping 2, so then the order is Roz Ryan, Michael Longoria, Olga Merediz, Montego.
I could be wrong, but Liz Callaway mentioned on Twitter that her son was in the performance, and I think that might be him between Montego and Alice.
hopefully that helped and I'm sorry if I'm wrong at all ??
Rosie Perez knows she's not a singer. She has participated in multiple of these because she's got more compassion and humility in her pinky than most people have in their entire body. She turned a life of abuse, neglect and anguish into a life of action. She's not just an actress, she's an activist. The fact that she's a little tone deaf but still willing to go out there and sing on that stage proves that she is anything but poor. It's not how she sounded that matters, it's the volume that does. And Rosie has been spreading love loud and proud for many years.
Instead of mocking her, people should be grateful that she uses her platform to spread love, awareness and compassion.
"I know now that theatre saved my life." - Susan Stroman
I know this is punitive and I should not care, but it bothers me to no end that Seth's daughter and husband have been included in all four versions of the Broadway for Orlando performances.
Anyway, Carmen Cusack basically stole the performance. Kudos to whomever decided to turn her mic way up for those last 40 seconds.
A number of recognizable stage stars appeared in the acapella video of "Fight Song"- Ellen Greene, Billy Porter, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Idina Menzel, Kristin Chenoweth, and probably more.
"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."
