Posted: 10/6/04 at 9:53amAh, okay. Then the garbage bag costumes begin to make sense. But fairy tales (the good ones, at least) have their own logic which has to be accepted by the audience in order for the story to work. Obviously, they don't have that together yet. We'll see if they can clarify the book.

Plum....I hope they do then because all five actors are so talented I would hate for the show to end before it even starts

Posted: 10/6/04 at 12:55pmWell if it's a "fairy tale", one of the first things these "homeless" people would fantasize about would be NICE CLOTHES! Cinderella didn't go to the fricking ball in her rags, did she?

You are missing the point.
The costumes are made out of what the homeless people have. Do you really expect homeless people under the Brooklyn Bridge to have Express sweaters?

WELL, OK then , now I just got off the phone with the lead supporting featured actor's ex-wife's second cousin, it's time to set the record straight.
BROOKLYN the Musical is actually AMAZING, and it ROCKS, ok, and it's not a "fairy" tale it's a "fairly" tale, because it's not all there, ok?, Ok, soooo seems the creators have smartened up and have given Brooklyn a lovable dog sidekick named, Sandy and a bunch of scrappy lil' orphan cohorts, I for one am soooooo jazzed about it now, did I mention she also wears a half-mask?

this thread is comic gold.
no need to lock it.

Posted: 10/6/04 at 2:09pmApparently you and I have different definitions of comedy. Re-hasing the same Idina jokes from a year ago? Not funny.

i'm cracking the fvck up (as I sew my new Hefty bag jogging suit) at this thread.
u people truly carry on. but i do have to agree on some of the posts. i saw broadway beat and the "bklyn" rehearsals and i clearly was NOT impressed. whatever happened to selling a song without having to screech at decibles only dogs and extra-terrestrials could hear? truly excruciating and annoying. one major factor that has me wanting to see this show is CLEAVANT DERRICKS. That man has a voice for the gods and this production is very fortunate to have him on board. I will definitely reserve any other criticism on this show until I've seen it, but I am NOT IMPRESSED by what I've read, seen or heard so far.

Any truth to the rumor that the title is being changed to "STATEN ISLAND the Musical"?
And that Donna Murphy is taking on the role of Cap'n Dirty McSanchez, the frosty female ferry captain with a heart of gold?

I bought a very stylish hefty shawl today.
They even made me matching plastic hefty shoes and a coordinating plastic Garbage bag.
I'm so hip, it hurts.
Robbie J they are all in red as ORANGE IS NOT MY COLOR.

Darling it is CORINE, I might be corny, but my name is Corine.
I had a designer design it for me.
Tres chic.
You know us divas need to stay ahead in fashion or else you fashionistas will be on my case.
Excuse me darling, I need to get back to work.
