He likes it all. But we are both avoiding dessert.
We are both on diets.

Do all the kids in the audience get to have the faces painted and get made up like homeless people before the show? I know that that would every child's Broadway dream......

Posted: 10/5/04 at 1:39pmActually, I *think* Debbie Allen is being brought in, maybe you didn't hear the news, but now Brooklyn is gonna have extraordinary telekinetic powers, there is gonna be a big finale where as her long lost Mother returns, she is killed by Car, uh, I mean BROOKLYN'S violent rampage of revenge.

Posted: 10/5/04 at 2:09pmSo I guess it is safe to say, to each his own? I loved Brooklyn. It was an entertaining night at the theatre. Loved the costumes. And I don't like Avenue Q. I have seen and heard enough of it to know I wouldn't pay to see it. Just my opinion.

So garbage bags are the new black?
PS If you have not seen Q, YOU CAN NOT JUDGE Q.
Q IS FABOO!

Agreed with Corine, for once.

Posted: 10/5/04 at 2:30pmI am not judging it. Just based on what I have seen of it and listening to the recording a few times, I am not as interested in seeing it as I thought I was. It may be a good show all the way through, but for me, I don't care for the music, have seen several scenes and it just didn't hit me like I had hoped to make me see it. It has crossed my mind to just check it out next time I am in New York. And I might, just to give it a chance.

All we are saying is give Q a chance.
PS When I heard Q BEFORE SEEING IT I had no clue if it was good.
I have now seen it three times and I am hooked.
I can't get enough of Q.
It must be seen and then heard.
Do I make myself clear sweetheart?

Posted: 10/5/04 at 2:36pmactually, uncage does make a point... i will not be seeing Dracula or Brooklyn based on what i've seen and heard, and i respect uncage's right to do the same with Avenue Q ...

#63re: Brooklyn Is It a Paradise or Paradice?
Posted: 10/5/04 at 2:38pmI am glad you like the show. As I said, I have seen parts of it and heard all of it a few times. It just didn't excite me. However, I may see it next time I am in New York to give it a chance (And because of it's Tony win. To see if it truly deserved it) And I am not your sweetheart. Do I make MYSELF clear?

Posted: 10/5/04 at 2:38pmNot that I'm saying to trust the critics all the time, but there's a huge difference in what was thought of Avenue Q and Dracula...

Why not ask Mr Wong what he thinks of Q. He waits for the lottery just like I do.
Not that I have ever won.
IT SUCKS TO BE ME!

I REALLY hope this doesn't lead to a bunch of
"BKLYN" vs. "Wicked" posts, but there is no comparison.
Even people that hate "Wicked" (especially the book) would love it compared to "Bklyn".

Posted: 10/5/04 at 2:57pmCan anyone please confirm if this is based on TS Elliot's OLD POSSUM'S GUIDE BOOK TO PRACTICAL BROOKLYN???

Posted: 10/5/04 at 2:58pmI like them both equally as much. For different reason. And I have seen them both. Brooklyn twice.
