They got their checks, they're outta here. Did anyone read the "reader reviews" of BRKLYN in the New York Times? Tell me those weren't all written by the same person! Seriously...
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

Am I the only who thinks this may turn Brooklyn into what people want Carrie to be revived for?
I'm actually looking forward to seeing the show now (don't worry, I'm only going if I can get rush tickets). I'm actually excited to see just how terrible it is. All the shilling definitely took away from the excitement back before I knew the trainwreck it would become, but these reviews just restored every last bit.
I cannot wait for tomorrow morning. :)

I'm not mad at the reviews, but i am mad at the people that are enjoying every mixed/negative review it gets, wanting the show the fail as soon as possible to make room for another revival of Gypsy or some other old show.
There have been no reports about the advance, but I can't imagine it's very high considering how mediocre business has been up to this point (less than 70% attendance each week so far despite very deep discounts and tons of comps). The fact that it and Dracula are the only new musicals on Broadway until Little Women opens in January might be able to help it with the theatre parties and group sales -- then again, if the reviews continue to be this awful, not many groups are going to be interested.

No, we want to have a more productions of GOOD, NEW shows. Most of us on this board are huge fans of GOOD rock musicals, with GOOD original pop scores, GOOD books AND GOOD performers -- we've seen lots of them over the years, so it's nothing novel or different and we're not going to embrace a show JUST because it's new and has an original pop score, if the creative team didn't take the time and skill and know-how and energy to fix the show's book problems (which were apparent to the reviewers from the time of the opening in Denver). They had a LOT of time to get this right and didn't do it -- and if that meant delaying the show and bringing in show doctors to revamp and rewrite it, then they should have done that rather than rush it onto Broadway where they HAD to know what the reception was going to be.
They're not showing us the audience much respect and consideration if they have the nerve to put a product they knew was flawed on the stage with a cast of five and garbage for sets and costumes and then have the gall to charge $96.25 for it. We, the audience, deserve a heck of a lot better than that.

PLEASE let Caligula come back, SOMEONE? It's second week (after substantial rewrites) blew me away. My usually disinterested friend whom i brought said "That's ready for Broadway."
Totally agree, Margo.. Tiny, I like you too much. Dont start sounding like Usta. People do not want the show to fail. I never like to see "vacant" theaters and/or out-of-work actors, musicians, etc... BUT, theater-goers do deserve a lot better for their money than this !!!
