"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

When TheCharleston was posting as TooDarnHot, he also claimed to have a personal relationship with Aaron Tveit, claiming he had seen emails from Aaron stating he was going to be Tony in West Side Story. We all know how that worked out. I believe Marc Shaiman himself had to come on here to clear up that bit of nonsense.
From what I've heard from close friends who have seen Billy Elliot, Greg Jbara was heartbreaking, touching and brilliant. They said his role is very deep and multilayered. When I personally think of Greg Jbara I think of a wonderful and very under rated thespian on broadway. Whether or not you enjoyed his performance as much as some people did he has been overdue for a big role and wether the tony voters enjoyed his performance that much I feel we will have a BE sweep this year so he could definitely win.
Having said that, i think Christopher Sieber has a better chance of winning. This is because he has unanimous raves from critcs and everyone I have talked to says he steals the show. As WAT said comedic roles have landed supporting tony awards in the past. So I think it is a two horse race with Sieber with a little bit of an advantage.
As far as Tveit's tony chance go I can't really say since I haven't seen it. It all depends on reviews and word of mouth. I do have a feeling though if he does get nominated the voters might feel they can always give it to him next year. I think if he does not get nominated for N2N then he will probably get nominated for CMIUC.

the featured actor pool is pretty diluted, Aaron should have no trouble getting a nomination this year.
He'll likely be joined by Seiber, Kudisch, Jbara and Breaker (if the committee aren't put off by the screaming queen of a donkey on stage at the Broadway).

So wait....you haven't Jbara's performance and you haven't seen Tveit's performance. I think you saw Christopher Seiber, but I'm not sure.
How exactly can you be qualified to predict a winner?
"As WAT said comedic roles have landed supporting tony awards in the past. So I think it is a two horse race with Sieber with a little bit of an advantage."
I don't get this at all. I already wrote a list of roles that were not comic roles. 4 out of the past 5 were not comic roles and they won the Tony. I don't know where this thought comes from.

That's actually not true. Brantley said he was funny but that the gag got old really fast. Some of the critics praised him, some said he was funny but nothing special, and some said he was annoying. Hardly unanimous.
"They said [Jbara's] role is very deep and multilayered." If standing there looking off into the distance sad and depressed is deep and multilayered, then yes. But to me that is more one-dimensional and predictable.

You don't know where my thought comes from?? Sara Ramirez, Beth Leavel, and Dan Fogler...that's where my thought came from.
I think you just wanted to take this opportunity to bash me on the board...
Since 2000, the following actors have won Best Featured Actor in a Musical for a comedic performance- Gary Beach, Dick Latessa, Dan Fogler. The following performers won for a non-comedic performance- Boyd Gaines, Shuler Hensley, Michael Cerveris, Christian Hoff, John Gallagher Jr.
Since 2000, the following actresses have won Best Featured Actress in a Musical for a Comedic performance- Cady Huffman, Harriet Harris, Sara Ramirez, Beth Leavel. The following ladies won for a non-comedic performance- Karen Ziemba, Jane Krakowski, Anika Noni Rose, and Laura Benanti.
So, the females split 50/50, and the men leaned towards non-comedic performances. Not really evidence to say that it's an advantage in this category to be in a comedy.
Jane Krakowski's performance could be considered comedic, but we don't need to go down that road as you were just proving that there hasn't been a correlation in recent years. I can't wait to see how WAT tries to turn your post into a personal attack against him.
All I was saying was that I disagreed with many of the supporting actors/actresses who won for comedic roles...and if Sieber wins for his ridiculous performance, another will be added to my list.
To get back on point of the original post (which wasn't a Tony nomination post) looks like a great cast. Lots of Hairspray alum in this show. I assume it is safe to say that the part of Brenda will be increased significantly.

I have not seen Shrek either. In my post I did not express any of of my opinions. I said my friends who say Jbara's performance said those things. As for my prediction I am just judging by word of mouth and reviews. Most people on this board predict the tonys but haven't seen the shows. I will be much more qualified when I do see the shows yes but as of now all I am judging by is the usual sources that tony's are predicted on.
