Closing on Sept. 3 along with Sweeny & DRS! Although this time around I can honestly say I'm surprised this one lasted as long as it did on Bway. Its been dragging along at near anemic #s for weeks on end. I do hope the actors go onto intereting things, they were a good group. Poor Brian Darcy James is such a good performer, he deserves a winner! Also read that Allison Pill is going to star opposite Jeff Daniels in BLACKBIRD for MTC directed by Joe Mantello, looking forward to that.

Great, another one of the shows I wanted to see before it closed. I agree though, I'm surprised it lasted this long.
Wow, September 3rd is starting to suck, huh? Three good shows all biting the dust.
I've been seeing a LOT of TV ads for this one lately. Guess they didn't work.
Too bad! It was a magnificent show. I'm glad it moved to Broadway even for such a short run. The players were all excellent, and in my heart this was the best play on broadway this year. Thanks for a great run!
I need to catch it again. I loved it the first time, but my seats were awful. I'm guessing rush isn't going to be too difficult.
What a shame. It's a great show, for those who can appreciate the dark humour in it.
Though I thought the Lyceum was too large of a theatre for it...
Shucks. I really enjoyed Inishmore. Looks like I'm going to catch the final performance before going to Sweeney in the evening. Should be a bloody fun day.
Also a fan here of "poor wee Thomas" I was hoping to see it again.
I wonder how much of production costs went into overtime for the cleanup crew?
Ugh! As much as I don't want to see it close, period, I can't help but selfishly wish it had closed on Sunday when David Wilmot/Domhnall Gleeson left. I know that sounds horrible, but isn't it kind of surprising that they bothered to replace them. They haven't been doing well at all, and I can't believe they would have expected to last too much longer. You'd think it would have been easier/more practical to just close it with them, rather than rehearse new actors (3, since Jeff Binder left last Friday as well).
Anyway, I'm also surprised it lasted as long as it did (though I'm certainly glad they hung on, allowing me a couple repeat visits).
Now, I need to decide what I'm going to do, as I already have a ticket to see DRS. Poor Inishmore! Nobody's going to be there on the 3rd!
If anyone wants to buy my DRS ticket, it's in mezz, row D, I believe (maybe E?), drop me a PM. It's regularly priced at $81.25, I got a discount, but I might be willing to take a loss of a few dollars on it (I'm a recent college grad, people, so no $20 offers, please).
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I'm Mr. Musical but in my last Broadway visit I saw my first straight plays on Broadway: The History Boys, Awake & Sing, and Lieutenant of Inishmore.
I've never been more affected by any piece of theatre like I was the night I saw INISHMORE. HILARIOUS SHOW!! So intelligent. I really wanted to see it again, damnit!!
Dammit, I can't believe this show's closing! This was one of the most hilarious, bloody, and brilliant plays I have ever seen. But I didn't really expect it to last long an Broadway. I had a feeling it would run the amount of time it did, so I really can't ay I'm suprised that it lasted this long. But, it's been doing rather low business, so I knew it wouldn't last that much longer.
Now we have three showss closing in September 3rd. DRS, Sweeney Todd, and this show. It's going to be a sad day for Broadway.

capnhook, oh, how did you miss The Pillowman last year?! If you loved Inishmore, you would have adored Pillowman! :)

Having seen this twice, I too am sad to see it go. An excellent piece of work.
I saw it on Sunday for David Wilmot/Domhnall Gleeson last show. I knew then that it was not long for the world as the Orch was pretty full but the Mezz had about 20 people in it.
I have gotten exceelent seats each time with a discount, by waiting until the day before and buying the released house seats.
I really hope to see it this weekend, or maybe even Tuesday. Damn, I'm not gonna let this happen again (Never got to see The Pillowman). For those tha thave, do they sell any cool merch?
that's so funny that i'll be in the city then and i told my roommate he should see Inishmore. i must have known it was going to leave us or something.
i feel for "Poor Wee Thomas". i would love to get the script. it was just too f*cking good to NOT want to have. i can see local theatres bastardizing it for years to come. FUN! :)
They actually do have some decent merch at Inishmore (especially for a straight play). They have the show's window card and the script, but they also have 3 different shirts (including a fun one that has a picture of a cat that says "Wee Thomas' Army"!!
That shirt about Wee Thomas is hysterical. I saw the show, it took me a while to warm up to it but I'm sad to see it go.

Jesus...I feel so bad for the new cast members. They will have only done what, a week of performances?
I think it'll be two weeks' worth of performances, but STILL! I'd tend to think they put in more time preparing for the roles and rehearsing than they'll actually get to perform. That's why I don't really understand why they didn't just close last Sunday. I find it hard to believe that the producers thought they'd make this miraculous about face with Christopher and Jerzy! They've been pretty even in their attandance the past couple of months, haven't they? It just doesn't seem it would be worth the time and effort for everyone involved.
Oh well, I'd imagine it's still terribly exciting for those two. I believe it's both of their Broadway debuts, and what a pair of roles! I would think it must be a bit disheartening to only be with the show for two weeks, but at least they got to do it at all, right?
Bye bye Wee Thomas
It is a bloody good show & we are glad we saw it. It did not cost us an arm or a leg either to see it
Looks like Wee Thomas will go to that big cathouse in the sky
