It's always when unpopular minorities speak up about something that we hear that tired dog whistle. No one here said anything about cancelling or demanding anything, unlike the over 4,000 book titlesthat are currently being targeted for banning nationwide - a four fold increase over just a couple of years ago. But hey, where is your reaction against that? *crickets*"
…No one threatened or even called into question your “right” to criticize the news media. No one is “silencing” you. Your “right” permits you to say what you want - it doesn’t protect you from people disagreeing, people responding in ways that upset you, or people perceiving your stance as cancel-adjacent. And as far as “where is [this person’s] reaction” to book banning? I don’t know, but probably not on a Broadway message board. Don’t see why you’d expect that outrage to surface here and therefore don’t feel the call-out warrants a “crickets”/mic drop button.

Unpopular opinion, but when the poster who hates the British Empire flared up again last week, I almost provided Sparks as an example of something that, while it would probably annoy people, WOULD be relevant to bring up if one were inclined, since the show is currently on Broadway, and he was right there onstage on opening night with the rest of the creative team. I knew it would bring up exactly the same "then don't go"/"how long to let things go" arguments, which it did, but it wouldn't be off-topic or irrelevant, unlike the British Empire.
That said, it certainly didn't need a new thread when there are already Notebook previews and reviews threads, and the old News thread.

"Living in Hell"? Geez, some people really have no sense of proportion. It's impossible to take you seriously when you say stuff like that.

CBS Sunday Morning is under the NEWS division at CBS - not the entertainment division.
Asking about racist remarks while promoting a color blind show is an important question.
Sparks might have had a great answer - I can't imagine what that would be, but he might have. Now we will never know.

Man, Sparks' comments and those allegations are disappointing. We should all be about inclusivity and respect.

Or maybe he's moved on and/or grown up because clearly he's fine with it.
