Posted: 9/3/14 at 6:05pmCongrats to all involved! They really couldn't have presented a more fabulous production. The legacy will continue on the road, and I bet it won't be too long before they start licensing it. I wonder if it will recoup?

What a great run this one had. I'm glad that I got to see CINDERELLA in person before it closed, and I'm sure Keke would make a wonderful Ella to close the show.
The heat is on in Saigon for sure.

Posted: 9/3/14 at 6:18pmI'll never forget the magic I experienced during one of the first previews, sitting in the front orchestra watching Laura Osnes give her all with this role. What a great production, glad it will have run for as long as it will.

Posted: 9/3/14 at 6:22pmI think Cinderella has had a more then respectful run and will be successful on the road. The closing isn't a surprise to anyone in the community. I think that in the end, people will recognize this incarnation of the show as a success.

Posted: 9/3/14 at 6:25pmThis was the first Broadway show I saw in New York. It will always hold a special place in my heart. It had a great run and I look forward to seeing the tour.

Posted: 9/3/14 at 6:26pmWonder why Sherrie is only doing such a short stint? Although I have to say NeNe is a big draw for me.

"While Patina was a great in Pippin, Laura should've won the Tony"
What does that have to do with anything?

^^^ Regardless of what it has to do with, it's completely wrong. The insane stuff Patina was doing was far more challenging than playing Cinderella.
I think people will now wait for NeNe and skip Sherri.

Posted: 9/3/14 at 6:42pmI was SO against seeing this, but I was desperate during a trip to NYC and was stupid and got to TKTS at the worst hour possible. AKA all that was left musical-wise was Cinderella (and probably some other stuff I didn't want to see). Don't regret it at all. Took my mom and we had a blast. It was so much funnier than I thought it would be and SO much more adult-like. And the entire original cast was just great. Judging by other peoples comments throughout their run, I definitely think it was a successful run!

Posted: 9/3/14 at 6:46pmIt's always sad to see a show with so much promise fall by the wayside. I hope to see Cinderella when it tours.

It was a good run but can't say I'm surprised. I'll be going back for NeNe. I'm guessing Keke Palmer will be there til the end. NeNe and Keke! You know Kandi mad she didn't make it to Broadway before NeNe. A Mother's Love? Nope.

If it does not recoup by the time it closes, then maybe the tour will help it recoup. That's what happened with 'Into the Woods'.

Posted: 9/3/14 at 7:43pmI wonder what will move into the palace? Either way, I'm glad that this desecration of such a great musical will finally be gone from Broadway.

Posted: 9/3/14 at 7:48pmWhat does the Palace Theatre have to do with the closing of Cinderella?

Posted: 9/3/14 at 7:54pmWow mjohnson2, I can understand people's opinions of certain things but "desecration" is too strong a word, don't you think? I thought Douglas Carter Beane's work was a much BETTER revision than the terrible and unspeakable revival of FLOWER DRUM SONG, Hawng should be banned from doing revisions ever again.

I wouldn't call this a desecration, nor would I call either incarnation "a great musical." This version of the Cinderella story has always been a few great songs, a handful of decent to forgettable ones and little to no book or character to string them together.
This one is better than some of the previous tries, no worse than any others.
