How stupid can people actually be? "
Actually, the body begins the natural dying process around age 25, and cellular decay increases more rapidly starting around age 55. So anyone over the age of 25 is literally dying.
Well they were doing that, and it wasn't selling. So now they've attempted to pivot to two lesser-known shows + ITW.
There just isn't an audience in NYC for older "forgotten" musicals that don't have stars or extreme name value –– not at sustainable ticket prices. (Though aren't you the one who will die on the hill that MAME could be financially viable on Bway without a star? So this conversation is probably a dead end with you...)
Die on the hill? I think Mame is a show that could in most times be done without a name, as the show itself is well-known/loved/remembered enough that it doesn't need a name to sell it (as Funny Girl does), but now that we're in this weird pre-post-COVID mode, it may be that no show will do well without a star, even shows that aren't star vehicles to begin with (say, Company?). So, no, won't die on the hill, but don't think it's a completely delusion proposition, either.

A lot of people asking about that casting news - but Florian Zeller is mum on any news about it. His instagram simply posted about the first day of filming on Monday with Hugh and Vanessa Kirby ( who plays the new wife).
Sometime ago, there was a casting call for a young boy ( 8-9 yrs old) who will play the young son in a pivotal scene, to be filmed either in southern France or England. Was there a young boy in the play...or is this a change for the film adaptation? It could also be that there will be more changes in the adaptation?
Will NYC theaters only be allowing vaccines approved in the US, or also those approved by WHO? Asking in relation to the Astra Zeneca vaccine, which worldwide is is the most widely approved vaccine (but not in the US), and would definitely have an impact when it comes to certain foreign tourists visiting in the future, especially UK tourists.
I have a feeling for the Springsteen concerts they changed their requirement to allow WHO approved because of that issue, but can’t remember for sure.

A quick google search resulted in:
“Under the new guidelines, ticket holders must present documentation at the door of full immunization by a vaccine authorized by the Food and Drug Administration or the World Health Organization.”
Note that the above applies through Oct 31 and protocols will be adjusted or changed as the Broadway League sees fit. That said, the statement was published on July 30 so I don’t know if this have change since then.
