Enjoy! Only two songs in, but it sounds great.

Thanks for posting! My favorite musical of the season so far!
Wow. Really impressed with the score.
This isn't what I was expecting at all. I may have to add this to the list.
Now I'm even more excited to see this next month. Thanks for the link!

I can't wait to buy this album after listening to the whole thing this morning. It also made me want to get tickets to see it again. Thanks for posting!
I love it! What a great score. I have a quick trip to the City in April, and I just bought my tickets for this show last night. I am even more excited now!
Fantastic recording! It was definitely smart on their part to release it early on in the run. It can only help build word of mouth.
WOW. It was like hearing the score for the first time. What an incredible recording, and amazing that they've captured the driving economy of pace and story.

Just listened to the whole album straight through--wow. That was incredible.
Can anyone tell me how much dialogue/book scenes there are in between songs? How much of the show is not on the album? Just curious!

I was wondering the same thing yesterday, so I looked on the show website and the run time is 100 minutes. The recording on NPR was 65 minutes (if I remember correctly) - that leaves about 35 minutes for dialogue
That's about right. And given how much of the show isn't present on the album I was surprised by how complete the recording feels. A couple of narrative threads are dropped that I loved in the show, but the amount of the show captured on the album feels satisfying.
For those who have seen the show --- do you recommend listening to the album ahead of going, if I'm definitely planning to go in the near future? Or am I better off going into the show cold?

I think it'll be more powerful if the first time you hear the whole score is when you see the show.

"Maybe I'll just listen to one song while I'm getting ready..."
...sits and listens to the entire thing. Just as wonderful as I remembered it!
I would go in cold and let the show unfold. The score is very accessible and perfectly complements the libretto.
I've had the album on repeat since this was released on NPR. I'm loving it. It's absolutely brilliant. Looking forward to seeing the show for a second time in a few weeks!
THANK YOU!! At first I was skeptical of this show, but it sounds great.
