Checked to find a movie theater in my area that would be showing COMPANY this week and there really aren't any. I live in Suffolk County and the closest screenings are in the Bronx, Connecticut and Manhattan. What's going on here?
After seeing the performance on the Tonys, I am happy to wait for a DVD if one ever shows up.

The did update the theatre list and it's close to where I live now, but there are only two rather inconviently timed showings (6/16 at 7:30 and 6/19 at noon).
I may end up waiting for the DVD as well.

It's odd that the Met Operas are available locally and productions from the Globe Theater as well. Why not COMPANY? I, too, may have to wait for the DVD--however one may not be available for this one. I understand that the Roundabout's EARNEST is experiencing certain problems about a DVD release.
I'm going tomorrow night! It's showing at my local movie theater.
Dollypop, check out the link below:

It's playing at Island 16 in Holtsville and at one of the two theaters in Farmingdale.

Part of the issue is that a different company is handling it. This is Screenvision, I think most of the others are Fathom Events.
Seeing this tomorrow night as well. Very excited!
Jordan, where are you seeing it and do you know what they are charging? I may go after work.

Thanks Froggy, it IS being shown at my local multiplex. I guess it depends on which on-screen ad you respond to.
I'm seeing it at Clearview in Chelsea. I think they were $20 a ticket.

Well the last time I was at the Clearview in Chelsea was to see LARGER THAN LIFE and I held hands with Carol Channing during the whole film.
Maybe this time I'll head into NYC for COMPANY so I can hold hands with one Mr. Jordan Catalano!
I am working in that area this week. May have to go. Thanks Jordan.

If you're 13, Jordan, then I'm 29.

I had like four theaters to choose from and I'm in the midwest.

Phyllis, it depends on which ad you click on. There are tons of locations for my area in the link Froggie posted.

If it's playing here in Victoria, BC, I suspect it's playing nearly everywhere. Tickets here are 19 bucks Canadian.
I can't see paying $16 in the Midwest at a movie theatre to see a filmed version of a staged concert with limited rehearsal time. Even with that stellar cast.
If it comes out on DVD, I'll check it out. Otherwise, I'll skip it.

I guess I see your perspective, besty, but I'm looking forward to seeing this on Thursday. I heard so many raves about the concert and wished I could have seen it live, so to pay $18 (is it $16 in your neck of the woods? That's a bargain!) to get a chance to see it on a big screen seems like a decent deal to me.
I'm in Louisville, KY, going to see it Thursday for 9 bucks and happy to spend the money!

$18 for Thursday in Warrington, PA

I'd pay more than $18.00 to hear Patti LuPone sing the phone book--let alone a Sondheim score.

I have seen two different ads for "Company", one for the 15th and one for the 16th with two seperate lists of theaters. What gives?
