#1Cabaret Seating Question
Posted: 2/24/14 at 12:03am

Alright guys, I have a question and I'm hoping somebody can help me out. I'm going on a trip to NYC in June and the #1 show I'm excited to see is Cabaret. I'm kind of on a budget though and don't want to risk them not having some kind of general rush or student rush with a two ticket maximum, so I was thinking about buying hiptix.

I was looking at what was available, and they are all in the rear mezz on the extreme sides. For $25 it is obviously a steal, but I'm just wondering if the seats are actually good. If they aren't, I'm going to have to save and spring for more expensive seats (though like I said, we really don't have that much money as we are going to be seeing 5 shows). Any insight is incredibly appreciated!!

I sat there once, for Drood. While everything is in full view but the view is simply vertical and high up. If you're ok with that it's fine. Will you consider hiptix gold though? If you're planning to see Violet too (and you're under 35). Hiptix gold is the way to go cause they give you great seats in orchestra for $25

I actually was thinking of seeing Violet, but it isn't a must see on our list. The one way I was thinking of seeing it was to see it before a 10PM show of Hedwig because I heard it was short, but I wasn't positive if I would be able to get to that theater or not.

I looked up hiptix gold and I actually am thinking of doing that if we decide we can see Violet and Hedwig in the same night. The only thing I'm concerned about is paying the $75 and not being able to find tickets.

A friend of mine tried to find tickets as a gift for her parents and told me the good seats were going for over $300. If you're on a budget then I would go for the Hiptix and deal with it. I got ACCESS10 tickets for DROOD and while it's not super close and the seats are a little tight you can't really complain for the price.

I took your advice and just decided to order the regular hiptix tickets.

Row MM seats 119 and 121 on June 24th! So excited!! Michelle Williams is one of my favorite actresses and I can't wait to see her live.

Also, a huge thanks to the people in the uncomfortable Broadway theaters thread for mentioning how cramped the rear mezz is at Studio 54, I made sure to get aisle seats! :)

I thought I would tag on to this thread. I, also, have a question about seating for Cabaret...during my trip time frame, some of the very front tables on the far right and left side of the stage have come available. How impacted will the view be at these tables?

I've been to the Studio 54 Theatre when it is set up like a proscenium, but it looks like this might be more of a thrust stage. Also, is the stage raised for this production? I didn't see the previous production, so I'm relying on those here that did.

Thanks for your help.
