Posted: 11/10/13 at 12:19pmThe rear mezz in studio 54 is awful. I didn't even bother waking up for these. I knew they'd be hard to get. The seats are uncomfortable and the view is not good.

Posted: 11/10/13 at 12:24pmYeah, the capacity of the theatre was reduced by about 10%.

Posted: 11/10/13 at 12:25pmAhh crap. I guess I'll live, I had a terrible view when I saw A Doll's House at the Duke of York a few weeks back. I'm just glad to have the opportunity of seeing it.

Posted: 11/10/13 at 12:51pmWow, Kad, I'm surprised 10% is all they lost...it looks like there's even tables and chairs in the front and mid-mezz.

Huh - they apparently didn't put all of the Access10 tix on sale at 10am, or something, as I was in a class until 10:30am, got out of class, got my phone out of my locker, and was still then able to buy a pair of tix for Friday night. My confirmation email is time stamped 10:46am.
Seats are side rear mezz of course, but for $10 for first preview I am ok with that.

Posted: 11/10/13 at 3:07pmYou know, those tickets are a strange thing...with Jake Gyllenhaal's play, I randomly get an ACCESS10 ticket a few days before it opened, didn't make any sense at all!

That's exactly what we were waiting for. Now we can feel good about our decision to go because you know we were waiting on bated breath for your commentary on the whole situation. Thank you Mr Roxy.

Posted: 11/10/13 at 4:05pmExcuse me, Mr. Roxy, but I actually saw it the first time around with Jill Haworth...of course, I must've been a toddler at the time, but who knows? It might have cost $10 for a prime orchestra seat back then.

Posted: 11/10/13 at 4:46pmWhat annoys me is that last week I called Roundabout and asked, among other questions, would the usual 8-ticket limit be in place for any eventual Access10 sale for CABARET? I was told "Yes." So I wasted several minutes online today getting error messages when I indicated 6 tix (I was including friends). Fortunately, I was also on the phone, and when I finally got someone to pick up, I was told no, it's a 2-ticket limit--hence, those error messages. It rankles me no end when the box office cannot transmit accurate information. At least I got two for that Tuesday evening.

Perhaps they did not receive that information until today.
Because that's what happened.
You have to understand that box office staff are often the LAST PEOPLE to know things. Why? Who knows. They don't decide the policies.

Posted: 11/10/13 at 5:18pmI got four but bought them two at a time. But sure, there's always confusion...in the last couple of days, one Roundabout rep had told me that they were going to sell online an hour earlier, at 9, than on the phone. Another said it would be 10 for both internet and telephone orders. I'm sure what Kad says is true.

April they did open sales to the general public earlier, however the Access10 code did not work until after 10am. I tried several times.
I saw Cabaret years ago and barely remember whether I liked it or not, so depending on how much I like this production I will probably go back and splurge on a better seat. So I am happy with my lousy $10 rear mezzanine seat, also happy it is an aisle seat. LOL!

Posted: 11/10/13 at 9:46pmFor $10, you can't beat it. Even though some of the tix for Cabaret are priced really high, I have seen so many Roundabout shows for so little money--even ushering for them at times--that I can't get too upset about it, as some other posters have!

Posted: 11/11/13 at 1:14amIt is very hard to begrudge Roundabout charging more. A profitable Broadway production can underwrite much of a season. And with Cabaret, much of the seating in the run is taken up by subscribers or obligated to donors etc.

I am wondering the same. I'm so desperate to see this show that I'm on the verge of splurging for a seat, but if that ends up happening then I'm probably going to have to attend the show solo...I'd much rather see it with friends but no way they are willing to pay the current prices

My friend and I are going to pay full price because we want good seats. I can't decide on the seats though. Last time I was there, I sat in those 2 seater banquettes near the rail. I think the site lines were great, but I also sat at one of the front tables at another performance and couldn't see over all the people's heads.
Front mezzo seems so far back!

Posted: 11/21/13 at 5:21pmFront mezz, from what I was told, overhangs the banquettes/first row of the orchestra.

Posted: 11/21/13 at 5:23pmWell, that's a different story! thanks Kad.

Posted: 11/21/13 at 5:27pmThe mezz in 54 is actually fairly forward- it overhangs over half the orchestra. I believe the front row is comparable to F/G in the orchestra (when traditional seating is used, of course).
