Was shocked to learn Caroline has been in the Chicago production of Teatro ZinZanni for the past month.
I have had no interest in seeing this, but Caroline’s involvement suddenly has me intrigued. Anyone know when she’s set to depart the show? It seems like she’s going to be doing 9 to 5 in Australia and that begins in Sydney in April.

My friends talked me into getting tickets for this Sunday. Was dreading it, and now I'm slightly anticipating it. I wonder how featured she is.

She really loves the Chicago area! I saw her do Phyllis in Follies at Chicago Shakes and Sara Jane Moore in Assassins at Milwaukee Rep. I've actually seen her all over, Rose in Gypsy in Leicester UK, Aurora in Kiss of the Spider Woman in Melbourne, Australia. The Teacher in Christmas Story on Broadway. She is one of my favorites!

I hope she's making good money for this gig.
She's incredible. One of the best Velmas in Chicago I've ever seen.

Thanks for the info! I'm in Chicago next week and have a free evening. I'll be there instead.

Funny I’ve seen her in Gypsy but in Melbourne. The rink in London. Anastasia on Broadway. Her spider woman in Melbourne too and Chicago in Sydney. She does tend to get around all over the place!

Posted: 2/22/20 at 9:46amShe seems to have been working steadily in the US over the past few years, between Broadway and regional gigs. From what I remember, Chicago Shakes used to bring in UK/Australian actors a lot, which is probably how she became acquainted with the Chicagoland theater scene.

She's in the show until sometime in early to mid-March - it said the exact date in the program but we don't have it anymore! We saw Teatro ZinZanni Chicago in January with friends and we really enjoyed the evening. Caroline is playing the lead singer in the production and has a number of great numbers throughout! Unfortunately, we saw it the week before she joined the production. This is a fun night out! We saw her in Follies at Chicago Shakes (she was amazing) and in Assasins at Milwaukee Rep (also amazing!). We might try to go back and see her ZinZanni!

Oh right, I did see her Anna in The Rink at Southwark. I also saw her marvelous Reno in Anything Goes on another Melbourne trip a couple years ago.

Her Follies at the Chicago Shakes was just superb.
She's probably my favorite Phyllis.

Right?! Even though she was pretty miscast in the role as she is much more of a Sally. But it was fun to see a Phyllis who was actually a great singer and dancer.
Unfortunately, she wasn't quite as successful with her miscasting as Aurora in Spider-Woman. You really do have to mysteriously statuesque for that role. Her's came off a bit like a cartoon.

Saw Teatro ZinZanni tonight and talked with Caroline afterwards. She was great in the show and had about four featured performances, including an Edith Piaf medley and a song about the tomato soup we were about to enjoy. She mentioned after that she was headed back to Australia soon to star in 9 to 5, which starts mid-April, so she probably won’t be in this show for too long.
She also said she hadn’t see the Moulin Rouge musical but heard that Robyn Hurder was terrific.
