I would for The Actor's Fund or BCEFA or someone to do this as a concert benefit right now. I'd love a revival, but I'd like to see so many different people sing this show.

I'm just going to ponder this with a sheet cake.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I think Caroline, or Change is *vastly* superior to Fun Home. I so vividly remember everything about this show and what a masterpiece it was. Adding to that was the fact that I saw the matinee of the Trashterpiece that was Dracula the Musical on the same day.

In the intervening years, I've had the chance to talk to several members of the cast - as well as George C. Wolfe - at industry events, and every single time I bring up the show, there's this acknowledgement in their face that they knew they were part of something very, very special that was cut short.

Caroline, or Change and Fun Home are so different that I feel no need to pit one against the other. Both have substantial merits.

Caroline, or Change was so ahead of it's time that audiences didn't know what to think of it. Now it would feel so painfully relevant and also incredibly fresh. I would love to see it come back. I saw Uzo Aduba and Jane Krakowski mentioned on here one time as possible choices for Caroline and Rose and I really do think that the two of them would be sensational.

I consider Caroline, or Change the greatest musical of the 21st century, and my second favorite musical of all time. It is stunning. Fun Home is beautiful and important as well, but there's something about Caroline that makes it one of the greatest shows ever written. But, with such an embarrassment of riches, why should we debate it?

Good catch. Broadway audiences are overwhelmingly white, unfortunately... this show flew right over most of their heads.

Caroline is 39. And still a maid.

Larry was born in 1943, making him 19-20. Emmy was born in 1947 so she's around 15. Jackie & Joe's ages aren't exact but I'm guessing they're around 8-10 years old.

This. Oh my God, if I could watch Once On This Island and then Caroline, or Change... forget everything I've said about original musicals. There are just some revivals that would make my heart too happy to say no to them.

I hope they revive this but with a major star (I kind of wish Oprah could sing the part, I know that sounds ridiculous). I don't know if Audra's voice really suits the score either? The show deserves a revival with major buzz and a far reach. I don't want to see it open again, struggle and shutter in just a couple of months. I am afraid any revival with standard Broadway fare would be doomed from the start.

Give me claws and a hunch, just away from this bunch.

I was just thinking "If only Viola Davis could belt."

I'd honestly love to see someone like Classic Stage/John Doyle restage this show. I think the original - though I didn't see it - is incredible, but I can't imagine we'll get a commercial production. Maybe if Roundabout had the guts? But they don't seem to do many "ethnic" shows.

I'd rather see Doyle keep his hands off this, as I don't personally like his work. But knowing him and how he runs CSC, it does seem like the sort of piece he'd elect to tackle. And I'd rather see Doyle do it than no one at all.

Viola and Oprah are too old for the role (I know, I hate to say that - I mean, look at Glenn Close in SB).

I'd love to see it off-broadway, where it started, at the Public. Erika Alexander is an extraordinary actress who can carry a tune - she's not really a big "name," but she'd do it justice, in my humble opinion.

What about Idina Menzel? Color-blind casting? :P

??????Has Audra said anything about being against revivals? I agree that Patina would be great, and would probably sell well. I still want to see a Heather Headley led cast.
