Didn't Katharine go to boston conservatory though? I think she could handle Broadway...I could see her as Nessa, maybe even Elphaba...or she could go the diana route and be penny.

BIG RAB- ya Scooter Girl was asked to play Maureen. but she was still in the binds of her contract and so she had to turn it down

Chris- Radames in Aida, or Roger in Rent (haha both Adam Pascal)
Paris- Celie in Color Purple
Katharine- Maybe Millie? But NO to Elphaba. and YES to Eponine
Ace- GAG
Elliot-.........................
Kelli- i like her. but never for broadway
Taylor- hahaha i love this dude. but i dont know anything for him

out of all the idol contestants this season LISA TUCKER has most broadway potential BY FAR...just my opinion

Would love to see Chris in Rent or Aida. Kelli might be good in Best Little Whorehouse! Lisa Tucker might be a great Mimi if she could get some sex going!!! And paris would make a great Dorothy in the Wiz! IN fact...they should start looking at her!! OH...Mandisa in Dreamgirls...and not because she is the sterotypical looking Effie...but because she has the pipes!!!

Chris could definitely pull off a nice angsty Roger in RENT.
I'd love to see Kellie as Jolene in DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS.
Paris already looks like LaChanze, so I'd love to see her as Celie in THE COLOR PURPLE.
Ace shouldn't ever touch a Broadway stage, but I guess he might be able to pull off some sort of Fiyero.
Katharine reminds me of a younger, less annoying, prettier Idina. I can picture her in just about any role requiring a white brunette female. :) And with the power of wigs, why not throw in redhead and blonde as well?

i am a huge katherine fan..Eponine would be amazing for her, i think. don't know about Elphaba. so i reserve comment.
kelli pickler isn't smart enough to play Amneris ...or any other dumb blonde. SHE wouldn't get the jokes!! you have to be VERY smart to play dumb! think about it...
taylor could do mama mia...no or greg jbara's role in DRS...
i love chris...i only see him in the contemporary musicals..like you guys already said.
i chose ace as fiyero on the off topic board. he is such a cutie. altar boyz is awesome too! good idea! if he can act! he would also be a great Fuilly is Les Miz..i am sure i spelled that wrong..sorry.
paris would be perfect for the wiz..yep...wouldn't want to hear her sing Aida but thats just a preference thing.
elliot..don't know what to do with elliot, he isn't a typical broadway guy..so i can't think of what to do with him
clay aiken as fiyero..well, he could sing it..i would like to see clay tackle mark in rent. if he can act.
i am with whoever said NONE of them if they can't act!
kathrine is DEFINATELY Broadway material..how about Belle!!??!

Okay, I can't let this thing about Mandisa being homophobic slide. Take this as from an expert as I was top 44 this season and roomed with Mandisa for a time. Mandisa is a very religious girl, but that does not translate into homophobia.

The homophobia thing started because it got around that she was a singer as part of some Beth Somethingorother's ministry and she'd said she admired the woman. Some Christian women's thing. The woman in question did write some very homophobic things about lesbians in a book she wrote. This was dug up by someone and brought out. The idea that Mandisa is anti-gay stemmed from the idea of this combined with the fact that she said something about "whatever your problems, lifestyle..." before launching into a gospel song soon after this was dug up.

When Mandisa was interviewed and asked about this woman's views on homosexuality and her choice of words before her song, she said that she had no idea Beth Somethingorother thought that way. She also said that, by lifestyle, she was referring to her own problems with food. She has never said anything bad about the gay community and, when given the chance, denied that she had any issues with it. It's a shame these things didn't spread as the rumors did.

I'd never actually asked Mandisa about these issues in the time I spent with her. I never had a reason to. But when I said that my big goal was to have a drag following, she laughed and told me to "go get em." I don't see that as the reaction of a close-minded or homophobic person.

I just can't see her being that judgmental as she is the sweetest person you could meet. Please spread what I just wrote because I hate to see people thinking ill of someone I like.

Katherine is my favorite to win. I think I could see her being in "Wicked," probably as Elphaba. I think I could see her as Eponine in Les Mis, but she might make a better Fantine, I am not sure.

Loved the Paris - Aida/Little Inez offering, just because it's such a leap. I'd love to see her pull a Charlotte D' and cover both at the same time (if Aida was still open and they were produced by the same people). See her as Aida at the matine and then catch her as Little I at night.

Taylor - Movin Out vocalist if he plays the piano.

Ace could be the usher who takes out the trash at the end of the night. Glad he's gone!

I could not see Katherine as Elphaba really, but think she would be fabulous as Eponine. I think she would also do really well (based on last week) in any revival of an older musical. I could see her doing a lot of Broadway shows.

Taylor-If he can play the piano, he would be great in Movin Out

Ace, Kellie, and Elliot-No just no

Paris- I don't know what I could see her in, but think she could do really well

Chris-I honestly do not see him on Broadway at all. He would make a good Freddy in Chess, but I really do not see it. I see him lead singer of a rock band.

And I think Lisa has a future on Broadway if she wants it

Should TARZAN find a life: ACE YOUNG. they need the drool factor for that role. is the singing demanding?
PARIS: Dorothy in the WIZ
CHRIS: Roger in Rent
KATHERINE: she could fit into alot of roles. she has the standard look and voice that Broadway's "good ole boys club" loves. (for better or for worse)
ELLIOT: dont really see him anywhere. nice voice but no stage personality.
KELLIE: go home.

Apeygirl...congratulations on making it so far on American Idol. I am sure that you felt close to your roommate at the time, but that wouldnt necessarily make you an expert on her views.

"Based on what I believe, I'm not an advocate for [being gay], so it's nothing I would take part in" (speaking about performing at a gay event.)

This is the quote Mandisa gave The Advocate AFTER being evicted and AFTER her comments about lifestyle before singing the Mary Mary song....whatever she meant by that (though I've never heard of overeating regarded as a lifestyle.)

She states in her American Idol bio that her personal American Idol is Beth Moore of Living Proof ministries, who lectures that gay people can and should turn straight, which is a foolish, damaging and hateful "opinion."

I know what my spritual idols believe. I would assume that someone as spiritual as Mandisa would know exactly what Ms. Moore's beliefs are and she chose to advertise her idolization for her.

Anyway... am I the only one who thinks Katharine can't belt? She strains SO much! Also, her voice is so light, I'm beginning to think she's a soprano-in-denial.

She indeed can and should believe anything she wants. Noone said that she shouldnt, Spork. What WAS said is that she shouldnt expect to feel very comfortable working on broadway given her convictions...what with all the gay people in the theater.

Katharine may not be able to belt in your opinion, but it seems that the LA theater community disagrees with you, nominating her for their equivalent of the Tony award.

Well, just because she was nominated for an LA ovation award doesn't mean she "belted" Annie Oakley...for all we know she sang it like Julie Andrews. Did anyone actually see her?

Ah, I see (about Mandisa.) Yeah, that's a good point.

Well, maybe in Annie Get Your Gun she wasn't required to push as much. Because lately in AI she just keeps missing all of the "money notes," as they're called.

As for Taylor... according to Barry Manilow, he's practically a tenor leggiero. So I would LOVE to hear him sing some higher stuff.
