HOT HOT HOT! Damn.
And pretty crazy and cool that basically the entire creative team behind HAIRSPRAY has teamed up again for this project. That alone gives me hope. These guys have proven that they can make magic together.

Thanks for the link! She is nice, but a little too young (looking, at the least) for Butler's part.
Speaking of the Hair cast, Caissie Levy would be a gem! Too bad she doesn't match up with Aaron's good looks!!! =O

Meh, not Shoshana. I was hoping there would be enough of a draw with the 3 leading men to surprise us with a lesser known female who could "wow" us and take the place of Sutton Foster, who we discovered many years ago. Broadway needs a new "it" girl who can still believably be young and charming. Sorry Bailey Hanks.
And, Karen Olivo can't play white girl parts! (Although it's not stopping Krysta Rodriguez??)
But gosh darnit, Karen would give the role and storyline a refreshing boost! (Take that, Mr. Laurents!)

Pianolin717, how can you suggest Allison Case for a role in a show you've never seen?
Knowing one song from a demo recording doesn't exactly make you knowledgeable of all the character's specific demands, let alone able to gauge people who may or may not be appropriate for it (not to mention the fact that Case's voice lacks the punch to put the song in question over to begin with.)
i am the one, Karen Olivo did a reading of the show as Cheryl Ann, the prostitute who seduces Frank and sings the song "You've Gotta Pay For Love" (played in the film by Jennifer Garner and in the Seattle production by Felicia Finley.)

Sounds more like he was basing it off of Amy Adams' portrayal in the movie rather than the vocal demands of the role itself.

Is anyone else a little ho-hum about this? I mean, I know I should care. It's a big, major production opening, but I'm just not all that excited? I guess because it's the same team behind Hairspray, and I saw one of the last casts on Broadway, and they all seemed like horribly watered down versions of their former selves, so I was just sort of burnt by that whole experience. Any idea what the design for this show is like?
But I do love me some Felicia Finely.

Yep! I have seen nothing drastic in the announcements for this show that make me excited. That is why i am the one labeled me "Cyco the Cynic." Maybe he'll get you a nickname too!

^Brenda is in her early 20s in the movie...Allison Case does not look too young for the role.

Okay, Kerry Butler can play a 20 y/o on stage convincingly. It's like how Idina played a college freshman in Wicked. Allison Case (see link) looks like she is 15. She could look like Frank Abagnale Jr.'s younger sister! Or at least any character in a "13" revival.

In 12 and 13 he looks like a total tool bag.
