The show just never fully grasped me. It had some okay songs, but nothing I'd wanna hear repeatedly and the design just wasn't that eye-catching or anything. I'm totally down to see this on Broadway when it inevitably comes because I love Norbert, and he can do no wrong. So we'll see.

Angie Schworer looks fantastic, and that dress is not even close to the one she wore in Producers.

Nothing in that photo shoot to lure me into the show.
And Shaiman's last rant on here was a big turnoff. Does Shaiman fee free to treat anybody any way he wants to and make personal attacks?
I also didn't like the way he treated Scott Eckern. People have a right to different individual private beliefs and to make political donations even if you don't like them or agree with them, and his personal decisions did not represent those of the theatre where he worked. Bullying that guy into losing his job was unconscionable.

He was in no way "pressured" except by his personal beliefs to resign.
I don't think that anyone that spoke out against his actions did anything wrong. This is no different than the NFL refusing to allow the SuperBowl to play in a state that did not recognize Martin Luther King Jr Day. When a huge percentage of whom you are making money from is the very group you are repressing....you are morally WRONG.

"He said he wanted to protect the California Musical Theatre, his artistic home since 1984, from further controversy."
That is pressure.
"Scott Eckern, artistic director for the California Musical Theatre, resigned Wednesday as a growing number of artists threatened to boycott the organization because of his $1,000 donation to the campaign to ban gay marriage in California."
That's pressure, too. Attacking the theatre organization he worked for because of Eckern's personal beliefs.
"Los Angeles-based and Tony Award-winning composer Marc Shaiman ("Hairspray") wrote a blog saying he would never allow any of his shows to again be licensed or performed by California Musical Theatre while Eckern was employed there."
That's pressure.
"As a theater artist, Eckern said, "I have not imposed my beliefs onto any of the works" he oversaw, "but have sought to [allow] the truths found in the storytelling to speak for themselves.""
Eckern says he didn't impose his beliefs on the art.
Eckern, by the way, has a lesbian sister. He doesn't seem to be anti-gay, though he has his own beliefs about marriage.
So much for freedom of expression.

So there's one crappy show in the entire musical theatre canon that they can't perform? Wow. What a punishment.

So what? That's completely within his right to do that. So you're saying that if there was a store that gave money to anti-gay causes that gay people should still have to shop there?
