Sorry, thought I put the link in there.
Deadline Hollywood
If they really are doing this and "going younger," Seth MacFarlane as Nicely-Nicely would be an obvious choice.
If Tatum and JoGo are playing Sky and Nathan, I'd like to see them ditch those two fish Sister Sarah and Adelaide and get down to business, if you know what I mean.
Call this new version "Guys and Guys"!
Now that Hilty's more of a name, I'd love to see her as Adelaide! Another random name that I thought of was Kirsten Vangsness as Adelaide. I think she'd be a hoot!
I could see Channing Tatum as Sky Masterson. Joseph Gordon-Levitt can do anything so he'll be brilliant regardless.
Tatum and Gordon Levitt are in their early 30s. So was Marlon Brando when he made the film. Robert Alda was 36 when he originated Sky, as was Peter Gallagher when he opened in the '92 revival. Sam Levene was 45 when he originated Nathan, Frank Sinatra was 39 when he made the film, and Nathan Lane was 36. None of them were exactly ancient when they played the roles, so if they really want to go "younger" they should film a high school production.
With two "names" like that, they could very well cast a lesser publicly known Broadway actress for either of the two female leads. I think that would be a really smart decision if this actually happens.

Are they going to keep the lines about Nathan and Adelaide being engaged 14 years? Are they high school sweethearts?
Am I missing something? The wording on the Deadline article makes it sound as if Tatum is being eyed for the Frank Sinatra role and Gordon-Levitt for the Marlon Brandon. Though obviously it'd make more sense if it was the other way around. Maybe I'm just not reading it correctly.
Either way, love the idea of Hilty as Adelaide with someone playing against type as Sarah, no boring, "nice" girls, please.

When a film remake was tentatively announced a few years ago, I suggested Jennifer Garner for Sarah... I'm standing by that, although she's probably a little old now for the role if Tatum and Gordon-Leavitt are confirmed. She can sing... (see Alias) She can kick-ass... (see Alias) Perfect for Sarah... right?
Based on this sort of casting, I think Emma Stone might be an interesting Adelaide.

I like Megan Hilty as Miss Adelaide.
Laura Osnes as Sarah?
PalJoey, I'd watch that in a heartbeat! Maybe there should be a revival on Broadway and we can just pretend that awful awful revival a few years ago never happened. Osnes is one of the few ingenues working today who is actually lovely as opposed to dull and boring, and her and Hilty would make for a brilliant "Marry the Man Today."
With names like Tatum and Gordon-Levitt, Laura Osnes could play Sarah. Megan Hilty would be a fabulous Adelaide, and you know every female comedic actress who can sing will go after Adelaide. I'd also love to see Emma Stone as Adelaide.

Sierra Boggess as Sarah and Megan as Adelaide. Sierras got more attention from being in the POTO 25th concert
I'd love to see Jessica Biel reprise her role as Sarah.

As much as I love Emma Stone, she's far too young for Adelaide.
Maybe Nicole Scherzinger as Sarah? Kate Hudson as Adelaide?
Sigh. Why do so many people in this site assume that a Broadway actress (or actor in some cases) can actually act well in films? Especially as leads?
I'll add in saying Hilty for Adelaide.

Sigh. Because we have to sit through Roz Russell in Gypsy and Lucille Ball in Mame,
And there isn't a stage actress alive who could be as stinky as they were.

Tatum can dance well, as can Gordon-Levitt, but neither Sky nor Nathan really dance in any production I've ever seen. Singing? Not up to the quality, I fear, that it should be. And sue me, but somehow I can't see Tatum singing "So nu, so sue me." If the producers want to go younger, they should musicalize another story. I can't see either Tatum or Gordon-Levitt being engaged for 14 years to a chanteuse who has "a feeling she's getting too old."
Sky would be better served by someone like Hugh Jackman, Ewan McGregor or Harry Connick, Jr.

Guys and Dolls Light. I cannot see either of them in this. Its just taking two popular actors and putting them in a musical. A minute dancing with Charleze Theron on the Oscars does not a Sky Masterson make.

I agree with all of those suggesting Megan Hilty for Adelaide - that would be wonderful! And I think my head would explode from happiness if they would cast Aaron Tveit as Nathan Detroit and James Snyder as Sky Masterson. And I would love Kelli O'Hara as Sarah Brown.
And what is Adelaide's last name?
