I don't see wither Channing Tatum or Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Nathan; they both strike me as Sky. I could see Jason Segel as Nathan.

Frank Sinatra should have been Sky too, yet...

Well, he would have been a better choice than Brando. He was a really bad Nathan. They were both miscast.
I'd love to hear Hilty doing Adelaide's Brooklynese. "In other woids ... a poison could develop a cold... '

I'd listen to Hilty do the phone book, but as Adelaide, she would be phenomenal! I can totally hear her Bushel & a Peck right now in my head!
And we know the whole thing is gonna be autotuned to heck and back anyway (especially if they're aiming for a younger demographic who are now so accustomed to it that they expect it), so whether anybody can actually sing is probably a moot point.
Still, any movie musical will get me to the theater, so I welcome it, no matter how bad!

The movie is bad but kind of charming. I agree both Brandon, and especially Sinatra, are bad. Jean Simmons is sweet though, but it's just the kind of movie where magic rarely happens. I do wish they cast age appropriate actors but I like Tatum a lot. If they go for a movie star, I'd love to see Jessica Chastain as Miss Adelaide.

I did miss that, but Channing as Nathan is even worse. Ewan McGregor has already done Sky in London and that would be great casting.

Was it the original or the revival that advertised that, for all the leads, they were looking for actors "with lumps and bumps?"

Not sure if she can sing well enough, but Judy Greer seems like she'd be a good fit for Adelaide.

I know both of these names get thrown around daily around here, but Nina Arianda for Adelaide and Anna Kendrick for Sarah.
Though anybody remember around 2003 when Vin Deisel was set to star in a remakel??

"A minute dancing with Charleze Theron on the Oscars does not a Sky Masterson make."
Now there's a though. Charlize Theron as Sarah?

I wouldn't mind Zooey Deschanel as Adelaide, she's popular and she has proven herself as a legit singer as well as her music with She & Him.
