I asked this once and now I'll ask again, when is Christina scheduled to leave "Sweet Chairty?" Can someone PLEASE answer this. I'm going to NY in early January and would like to see her in the show.
LJay can correct me but I think I read in other posts that she is scheduled to leave in December.
Christina and Dennis, as of now, are scheduled to perform thru January 1st.
I think Paige would be great too! And I love Erin as well...Though Paige could sell more tickets. I doubt they could afford SJP...she'd probably want more than Christina!
I bet they go after Brooke Shields. She's been bitten by the bug of Broadway, and unless she has something else lined up, I wouldn't be surprised if they called her name out as a replacement. She's "in shape" for it now, and as ready to go as she'll ever be to play Charity.
Plus she gets my vote for Miss Replacement in a Musical for the past 10 years or so. She sells tickets and keeps shows running.
(Mr. Replacement goes to Tom Wopat!)
I am a big Brooke Shields fan and yet I don't believe she is appropriate to play Charity, it's one of those roles that I don't see her doing, I like her better in roles in which she doesn't play an ingenue, I think that's what made her so appealing as Ruth Sherwood. On the other hand, maybe Donna Murphy could be the next Charity! I so want to see her again!
They may ask Shields, but to me she would be a boring choice (not because I don't like her, but how many shows is she going to replace someone in?)
They wont ask Brooke.
Why would they do that AGAIN? They are way too smart to ask her again. She has said her next show she wants to ORIGINATE a role.
Plus she is ALL wrong for Charity, soooo wrong.
Paige would be adorable.... but i think its obvious that the replacement needs to be as big of a name (or bigger!) to be able to sell the show well. Paige has been out of the spotlight for a lil while now. Im sure she'd be fine with a tour, but not many people would rush to see her in NY. Brooke is too tall, and though shes in GREAT shape, she looks too old (when compared to the ensemble...) Im sure she'll also be looking for some time. She just finished London and came right here... and her child is still very young. I agree SJP would be great- but too expensive. Jane and Marissa are out of the picture. Jen Gardner (who i once outfitted for a magazine spread, sweetheart!) would be great, but a little too pregnant... i mean- Oscar would KNOW she wasnt a virgin
. The more i think about it... the more i CAN see Molly Ringwald (though i still feel shes a tour name). Shes also really tall... but i guess they'll be looking for a new oscar as well. Any one have any ideas for oscar casting? SJP as Charity and Matthew B as Oscar. how perfect! (but not happening).
Hmmm....

I have to agree with LJay, plus I think she has paid her dues, let the girl originate a role!!! Any thoughts on Murphy?
Love her, but also too old.
Some more ideas:

Love Lea....Lauper and Sorvino....not so much!
Sorvino would be great, but can she sing and dance? im not counting on it.
Allegedly she can sing. Don't know about the dancing.
Though im not completly sold on this myself, what about Katie Holmes? I remember thinking she had potential watching her do Big Spender on SNL.... any other pregnant girls? hah
Tom would never let Katie stoop so low as to be on Broadway. :-P
True, she'd be too close to Brooke!
How about Calista Flockhart?
Guys, I never said Brooke was the ultimate candidate for the part. I just think producers will seek her out. She can bring in the audiences. That's been proven. And producers LOVE proven.
And Charity needs to have a little mileage on her. She can't be fresh as a daisy. She's been working at the Fandango Ballroom for 8 years, and I doubt that was her very first job on the planet.

I could almost see Rosanna as Charity, but she's looking a little rough lately.
HEY, It was Paige Davis' birthday just the other day let's give her the role!
My birthday's coming up too! Maybe I could have a crack at it.

"The part is totally mine."
