At first, it was supposed to be Marisa Tomei (this was the workshop fase about two-three years ago. Closer to two.) Then she dropped out, don't know why, and it wasn't going to happen anymore. Then Jane Krakowski replaced her (still in workshop,) and then she dropped out, so the project was dead again. Then Christina came in, did the try out, got hurt, and they canceled the Broadway engagement. Then three weeks later they said it was coming without Christina to start, and then it happened...
This project really has overcome ALOT to get to Broadway.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
