Posted: 10/13/05 at 2:27amI think the only way they'd let Charlotte take over the show is if it becomes a hit like Chicago in which the production itself is so good that it doesn't need a name to sell, unfortunately the reviews for the show were not that good and honestly with Cilento's choreography and those horrendous costumes it doesn't surprise me, although the acting was extremely underrated in the reviews. I am pretty sure that as Ljay said, this show will close if they don't find a big name to take over. Whatever happened to Marissa Tomei doing Charity?

I saw it in the Boston tryout with Charlotte. She was fantastic, but yes, sadly enough, I think many of you are right that they need a "name" for this one to keep it running.
Brittany Murphy - she'd actually be good. She's got a Charityish voice. Can she dance and sing? She looks and sounds the part, she can act, and she's pretty funny too.
Sarah Jessica Parker - I could see it. She's a good comidienne. I think she could handle the vocals. Can she dance?
Re: the Idina idea presented above - Sorry, I love Idina, but I cannot in a million years imagine her as Charity. She seems a bit too serious. Not quirky enough. And never struck me as a dancer...can she dance?
Charity has to be able to dance!

YES! Brittany Murphy would be PERFECT as "Sweet Charity." She's funny, sings and dances. I read an interview where she mentioned that it was her dream to portray Charity some day.
I hope the Weissler's are considering her.
