The show needs a COMPLETE overhaul, honestly. Doug Hodge gave an interesting performance, but the rest was just awful. I only liked (not loved) two songs, the set was awful and at points overpowering, and the structure was all over the place.

From Jack O'Brien's quote, it sounds like they're giving the production a major overhaul. The way he phrased "paying homage to the orginal score" makes it seem like we'll be getting the version we were all initially hoping for from the West-End production: not a cut and paste, but a true reimagining of the film.

I definitely think this will go into a large house. Possibly options: Broadhurst, Lunt-Fontanne, St. James or the Winter Garden.

I don't know why, but I just get the feeling that this will go to the Broadhurst. I predict Tuck will peter out a run through the summer and fall, be an early January 2017 closing, and Charlie will move in thereafter. Just my totally unfounded prediction!

Isnt the Broadhurst kinda tiny?

At 1,156 seats, the Broadhurst Theatre is indeed one of the smaller theatres, hence why plays are also booked there - not just musicals.

The Broadhurst? The one that also holds plays? You think that's where this huge musical is going to go? Uh, no. No no no no. It'll be The Simon, The St. James, something like that.

Maybe I'm not remembering correctly, but this wasn't received all that well in London. I'll be interested to see if a lot is changed under the helm of a new director.

Yeah, plays like Mamma Mia!, Tuck Everlasting, Les Miz, Into the Woods... Yeah, that one.

But I admit I see where you come from, RippedMan. If not the Broadhurst, I could also foresee a January 2017 Finding Neverland closing and then Charlie into the Lunt.

It can't be the St. James Theatre because it's not a Nederlander house. Disney normally has a great working relationship with the Nederlander organization.

Frozen has the St James. You can believe me or not. Frozen is taking the St. James when it comes in.

bad reasoning there. are not exclusive house deals. Disney can go wherever it wants provided there's a match... working relationships are irrelevant.

Don't count out the Hirschfeld....
Warner Brothers has a good relationship with Jujamcyn. All other +1,400 theaters will be spoken for.

As stated, the Broadhurst Theatre has housed musicals and is small enough to house plays as well. Most recently MISERY played there, as well as the intimate EQUUS revival and the all-black revival of CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF.

i doubt SOMETHING ROTTEN! continues into 2017. It's grosses haven't been that good lately & they've been closing off the balcony most weeks since September. Also, FROZEN isn't arriving until spring 2018, so I highly doubt they have a theater secured now.

Really no news here, we already knew it was coming to Broadway. It would've been interesting if they announced what theatre group they're working with, normally you get an announcement that a show is opening in Spring 2017 at a Shubert theatre to be announced for example. So this announcement tells they are no where near getting a theatre and will only open in 2017 if they get one. This seems something to keep investors interested.
i reckon it will be in the Broadway, Fiddler will be done by Spring/Fall 2017.
