Cheapest Tickets?

Hey everyone.. my friends and I decided to go to the city tomorrow as an end of summer adventure and we decided we need to see a show. What are the cheapest tickets we can get at TKTS? We're poor college kids but we all want to see something really badly so I just want to know if its possible for us :) Thanks!

Normally around 10 o'clock. The tickets at TKTS are normally 50% off so that would leave you at about 50-60 bucks.

Wouldn't you get cheaper tickets if your did a student rush?

playbill.com

and print out discount codes from there. Bring the printed code directly to the box office, and you will have more flexibility as to where you would like to sit. It costs roughly the same as TKTS, so I would rather do this. Make sure you have a few options.

As Dollypop said, they have student rush or lotto policies for some shows. I don't know if you are a student, but make sure you have your student ID with you if you are one. Some shows give out one or two tickets. Here is a list of the policies (as well as lotto):

That would indicate that, yes, they are students.

Rushes and lottos should be your first option, since they are the cheapest by far. If there is a show that doesn't offer one of those, or you are dying to see it and don't want to risk something that's not guaranteed, THEN start looking for other discounts.

The only thing about rush is we aren't getting into the city until around 1(my friend has a doctor's appointment), so do you think student rush seats would still be available?

Depends on the show, but they definitely should still be for Gypsy. I think there are some where the student rush is a couple of hours before curtain, so those (someone help me out here...which ones are those?) would definitely still be available.
