Or shows in gereral. They don't have to be good. You know when your watching/listening to a show and you just wanna smack your head because some lines are so damn cheesy?
List yea favorites
My vote goes to anything in the song Clambake (oh God...) especially "vittles we et were good, you bet! The company was the same." I was literally rolling my eyes with a fixed grin on my face when I was in this show.

Unnecesary Rent-ness.

La Cage is a good show, not a great show. However, it is filled with lines that are so bad they can actually make you cringe. One of Les Cagelles says something like "if beauty is skin deep than why are people?"
Harvey winning a Tony for the book of the original production of La Cage was simply ludicrous. I have not seen the revival but the original book was dreadful. Many had hoped a new book would be provided for the revival, but alas, that did not happen.
I am not the only one who thought Harvey's book for this musical was terrible.
I don't recall him being asked to write the book for any musical after his "triumphant Tony win" for writing the book of La Cage.
It's a cheesey line, but that's why I love it:
"They can stop us from kissing, but they can't stop us from singing" (*cue song)

Again, while it may fit the show, it is the worst line ever said on Broadway.
Wait...this was cheesy lines in *good* shows?

I LOVE that line! It's just part of the tongue-in-cheek, joyous rediculousness of HAIRSPRAY.

"Happiness is everyone and anything at all, that's loved by you."
Don't get me wrong i love that show but come on.

WISHIHADATONY, that line is supposed to be stupid. The Cagelles (in the original production) were rather, uh, blonde. Most of the behind-the-scenes Cagelle stuff has been cut in the revival, though. Shame.

Cats. . . its one big two hour long cheesy line, put to music and with choreography.
I know we're supposed to talking about Cheesy lines in good shows, but when the entire show is the cheesy line you have to mention it.
But I must also add. . . (and I don't have the libretto in front of me so I'm paraphrasing) "I think I found my green glass love. - I just found me, an emrald" -Millie
(Someone correct me w/ the word for word quote if I got it wrong)
I liked Charlie Brown but that entire song made me cringe.
Rent- "Think twice before you poo-poo it." Whaaaa?

My roommate and I always get a good kick out of these lines in Millie:
"I'm on the way up!"
"I'm on the way down!"
"It's a good thing we met in the middle!"
Oy... would you like some wine with that cheese?

"The puppets. They were you?" in Carnival.
Really, really disagree about "Happiness" from You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. "Happiness is anyone, or anything at all that's loved by you." It's almost a profound thought, and really lovely.
