"Chicago" show on November 14th
#1"Chicago" show on November 14th
Posted: 11/13/06 at 4:28amThis may be a stupid question, but does anyone know how to go about finding out if a performer is definitely going to be in a show? I am a huge Ann Reinking fan, and I was very disappointed twice this year- I bought tickets for a show at Town Hall, and she didn't perform. On Wednesday, she was supposed to be at the Virgin Record Store for the signing, and we were told that she was sick. I went to Virgin Records at 9 a.m. for a wristband, went back, then stayed on line from 3:30 to 5:00; at 4:55, five minutes before the signing, I was told she wasn't coming. My point is, I am very tempted to charge a ticket for Tuesday's big event, but is there anyway to definitely know if she'll be there?

Posted: 11/13/06 at 5:05amConsidering this is a big event, I would assume she would be there if it says so. But as with any show, appearance of any performer is subject to change due to a number of reasons ranging from sickness to last minute family emergencies. There is never really any way to 100% guarantee that anyone would be in or at a certain show, but again, since this is a milestone for Chicago, the chances of her being there are good.

I would assume she'll be there. I've never known her to miss an anniversary performance.
She's a sweetheart -- I hope you get a chance to meet her.
BTW, I hope you realize that the 10th anniversary is a benefit performance and the tickets that are left (if there are any at this point) are in the thousands.

No frets. I, as well as Ann will be there. 100%.
This is a HUGE Benefit Gala, therefore she WILL be there.
As a kid I saw PIPPIN 3 times and she was there. In 1974 I saw OVER HERE! twice, and she was there. She was there also when I saw her twice in CHICAGO (back in 1977), as well as the few times I caught DANCIN' and SWEET CHARITY (1986), and the times I saw the revival of CHICAGO during her run AND she was there the night I caught her in FOSSE along with Ben Vereen -- including the FINAL performance, back in August 2001.
I guess you can say I've always been fortunate to see her in every show she's been in.
Whoo-hoo!
Oh, Miss Ann...I would love the blueberry pie this time. Woof!

Posted: 11/13/06 at 12:24pmthank you. I'm working the event, and wondering exactly what's going on, since they've rented out the entire complex. We won't have any shows that night, just the event.

Yessum, that be me. Been graced with her presence countless of times.
That photo was taken backstage at the Broadhurst during her 1 week run in FOSSE (along with Ben Vereen) in late March 2001. She returned to the show 2 other times -- once to co-star with Bebe Neuwirth and then again for the PBS/DVD tapings, which were done in early August 2001.

I can't even read about this show tomorrow. It hurts, lol. I can't believe I won't be there.
Well, atleast I'll get to see Bebe as Roxie in a couple of months.

I'm gonna stop by the Theater tomorrow night to check out the Red Carpet scene before the show starts. Hopefully there'll be a red carpet scene to check out!
last time i checked out the red carpet was at Usher's opening night and we got the surprise of seeing Luther Vandross, Clive Davis and others. Hope to see some more celebs there tomorrow!

I won lotto! They had us drop off our names and said they'd e-mail us and I just found out I won! Yay! I never win lottos. Not a bad one to be one of the few I actually win.
CJR, I assume I will be seeing you there?
Anyone else?

i won the lottery, too! Any speculation where the seats will be? Any chance of the after party being included? Info on the websites is vague.
Hopefully they will release some seats to TDF at the last minute for other people who can't pay the $250 ticket minimum. Producers don't like to have empty seats, even at benefit concerts. I went to Christine Ebersole's Benefit Concert through TDF. I'm excited!!

Posted: 11/13/06 at 8:27pmAwwww I thought the lottery would be on the day of the show, that sucks.

I'll be there tomorrow night and I'll be at the party. (I bought a thousand dollar seat). I read that the lottery did NOT include the party. I don't know if Ann Reinking will be there. They really don't know who that was on the list will actually be there until the show. I'll let you all know how the show and the party are afterwards.
I do know they had some trouble getting the tickets out. The show is tomorrow and the tickets still had not arrived in this morning's mail. So I called Safe Horizons and they said the tickets would be at the box office. Not sure what happened.

Posted: 11/13/06 at 9:24pmThough I'm not sure, I highly doubt we'd get in to the party as well. Of course I would be pleased, but attending the event is more for free is more than I could expect anyway. I will be quite happy sitting in the last row of the mezz, where I expect the seats to be.

Nope. I will not be there dear. I just started a new job and I dont get out of here in time.
It's sad. It's the first anniversary show in years I'll be missing.

I'll be thinking of you tonight.
Milla, it was a weird lotto, but you could enter between 3 and 5 at the ambassador theatre yesterday. We put down some info, including e-mails, and they said instead of calling hte names, they would be e-mailing the winners between 5 and 8PM. I got my e-mail at like 7:30. Also, it was one ticket per winner.
