I thought it was delightful. I am 47 years old. Lots of puns in the humor. Great singing and acting! I enjoyed myself much more than I thought I would.
I say "Don't miss it".

Em would say it is silly fun with a hot leading man.
I would say, Jan Maxwell and Marc Kudisch are the best parts of the show. And Marc's out for a lil while.

It's a crappy show, with a great cast that appears to be having great fun. I enjoyed going. The performances are great, and even the lame songs and plot points are enjoyable in a train wreck kind of way.
And Raul Esparza proves that he can be hot even when dressed as a candy cane.
But for me, it was all about Jan Maxwell and her genius performance.
greatdct

Is it annoying to hear little kids voices in a song or not?
I have nothing against kids singing, just a question.
#7re: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Posted: 9/25/05 at 1:55pmI did not find the 2 main kids annoying, and I hate kids on stage.

If you like that sort of spectacle, but I think the performances are the real highlight.
The car is fun the first time, but they spin it around over and over and over...So it gets old quick.

I found the car really boring, not as boring as the songs but close.
The cast was great though, the idea that they can have so much fun with that material is the only thing that makes the show worth seeing.

BobbyBubby - When's the last time you had a plaid candycane?
Anyways, the performances are great... Erin Dilly, Raul Esparza, Chip Zien, Robert Sells, Kevin Cahoon and ESPECIALLY Jan Maxwell are wonderful... too bad Marc's out, though. :-/

Posted: 9/25/05 at 3:59pmkids singing IS NOT an annoying thing!!! sorry i have to stand up for myself here. DEFINITELY see chitty! its one of the best shows ive seen, but then im a kid and all kids have to love chitty. today at the flea market i was seeing all the chitty kids parents and siblings, but not a trace of the actual kids! it drove me NUTS!

Posted: 9/25/05 at 4:01pmAND BY THE WAY kids on stage is what draws kids to the show! i would know...im obsessed with those kids. and all of the 13 kids in that show are probably the 13 most talented kids in the world except gabby malek cause i didnt see her in it...shes a new chitty kid

It's all subjective my dear. To each their own.
After many years of children's theatre, I find kids on stage annoying.
Again, just my opinion.

Posted: 9/25/05 at 4:13pmplease never say subjective again. thats all we talk about in social studies. every day we start by taking notes about what subjective means and how it relates to history even though we have the exact same things written down on another piece of paper in our folders. and then we go on to how no one can be completely objective...UGH

In response to the original question, I would say go for it, especially if you can get student or cheap tickets.
The show made me feel like a "kid" again. It's just so much FUN. Raul is a wonderful talent, and Jan Maxwell is absolutely BRILLIANT. Obviously, it's not life-changing theatre, but for a night of fun, why not go see it?

Hey guys. New here. Love MT (well most of it). Seen a lot and can't wait to contribute.
I saw "Chitty Chitty" in London and on Broadway. Pretty decent show. If you're just looking to have a good time. Erin Dilly is great, as are Marc Kurdish and Raul Esparza.
