I heard this last night, but I don't think it sank in til I saw it in print. Alas.
Poor Raúl. Three flops in a row. It's going to be weird (yet good for my grades and bank account, I suspect) not to be able to see him perform whenever I want.

Obviously I need to try and see this later this month when I am back in the city. No guarantees, though. I'd just really like to finally get to see Raul in something. LOL

The theatre is just way to big for a show to be successful there. It needs to be a guaranteed hit before booking.

I can't say I'm surprised, but I'm sorry for the cast. I thought it was a good fun show - not life changing, though.

Damn. How am I supposed to go to the last show if I'm stuck back home for the holidays?

That's really sad. I know a lot of people who loved this show.
At least Chitty fans got some notice, though.

Yeah, just found this out from Marc today. Quite sad. But he is coming back for the last month or so.

The theatre is not to blame. The Hilton has 1,800 seats, just like the Gershwin, where Wicked is playing and the New Amsterdam, where Lion King is playing. Yet, Wicked and Lion King haven't had trouble filling their seats. The size of the theatre is not responsible for Chitty's demise, and the large house was a necessity, given the size of the cast and the physical production.
Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.

I won't even be in the city till January 1st... maybe I could go see the last show of Chitty the day before though. That's cute that Marc is coming back though.

Sad news. But, it was coming so I'm not surprised. It will be missed though, at least by me. Hope the cast, who are all so talented, get better and more lasting roles in the future. They deserve it!

It is sad, that ppl are out of a job, but at leas they have almost two months to find another job. and that's the business, shows open, shows close. Wonder what will be next for the Hilton? Maybe Tale of Two Cities finally has a theater.

When does Kudisch return?
So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.~Office Space
