I think "Happy Birthday, Jesus" would be filed under making a mockery of Christianity... which is listed. And I think the other instance would be the "In that little town of Bethlehem..." La Vie Boheme stuff.

Of course they didn't. It was used as a weapon or tool in a social argument.

... perhaps you have Christ on your "side"?

Man, we could have all kinds of fun with quotation marks, now that the helpful CAP people have brought it up.

I think that "dance to solicit lust" is perhaps the funniest phrase on the whole thing.

And why is "adult wearing underwear" listed as a bad thing. Don't we prefer that they do so?

"Since e-v-e-r-y single non-autonomic movement of the human body is a choice, all sexual practices are a matter of choice."

Technically, erections are non-autonomic, but I doubt they would ever dare use that word. Although, "talking of impotence with graphic detail" is almost going there. I guess erection is too graphic for them.

"using the name of Jesus as a social argument weapon/tool"

I think this is the reference to the "Happy Birthday Jesus," it was used sarcastically in an argument.

Aw, now I'm bummed that the part about April killing herself was taking out, then there could have been something in the Murder/Suicide category too for the full sweep!

Pffff. I think Adult in Underwear just usurped irresponsibility with fire... dunno how I missed that the first read-through. Hilarious.

"Gaping face kissing" invokes images of leeches other worms that I learned about in Biology and have since forgotten. Slurp.

I also like the opening of the review: "I have reordered priorities. Analyses of two other films opening this weekend will wait in order to get this report for the R-13 dark and nihilistic Rent published as soon as possible. "

I just imagine the reviewer rushing home or to church or whatever screeching "Hold all reviews! I've seen pure evil tonight!"

While I know too little to argue what is called same-sex attractions, having same-sex attractions does not make one "gay." Acting on same-sex attractions does...We are all sinners. Including myself. As Paul said about himself [1 Tim. 1:15], I may be the chief sinner.

Who's read or seen Angels in America? Joe Pitt, yeah?

I really love how they repeatedly point out all the cases of "homosexuality/lesbianism", "lesbian kissing" "lesbian fake marriage"... and then after all that, there's a separate instance to point out the oh-so-offensive "lesbian, arm in arm".

Also? "Talk of impotence is graphic detail" makes it sound like Roger read a five page composition about Mark's inability to hold an erection rather than just mentioning it in passing.

What does "request for sex, repeatedly" refer to?

"three uses of the most foul of the foul words"
Thoult shall not say the foulest of foul words!

"portraying parent as buffoon"
Because no parent could ever be a buffoon!

"pelvic thrust in face"
I'm loving the language here

"homosexual and lesbian pairing, arm in arm"
ARM TOUCHING!! What has the world come to!

"bar, repeatedly"
This one doesn't even make sense.

"calling him her and he she, repeatedly"
hahahah Angel is such a he-she!

Guys... This site provided makes all movies sound like negativeness. They even have MARY POPPINS on there! OK, not a lot, but still.

My favorite quote is "calling him her and he she." Just laughable.

I heard on another message board that this guy's friends use this site as a source of amusment. Frankly, I'm not surprise. Heck, this review has almost nothing to do with the actual film itself.

Oh, and if this dude's complaining about how it makes the police seem like the bad guy, and making the criminal the good guy... That's what RENT is supposed to be like. These characters are struggling because of these people. Man, these guys can't see any movie from the character's perspective, which is how you're supposed to watch it.

KEATON: "Request for sex, repeadetly" I think this refers too Mimis first appearence for "Light My Candle." That's as far as it goes.

"homosexual and lesbian pairing, arm in arm"

Did that mean same sex arm linking or a lesbian and a gay man linked arms?
