Any thoughts on the TODAY show clip yesterday? It was a fun behind the scenes, but I wish they did more to emphasize the fact it actually a musical - you know, like actually mention that it's a musical.

Are they doing anything different to the theater? I think what makes their Vegas counterparts so impressive is the sheer technical abilities of the productions.

Seems to be the only playbill of the season not to feature the Playbill headline:

Is the shoe actually eligible for tonys?

We won't know that until it opens and the nominating committee makes a determination on it.

it'll be branded a musical, so I'm sure it'll be eligible for the Tonys. But it's opening in late May, so by next year's nominations, they'll probably be forgotten.

They said he left because of creative differences. I would love to know specifics.

I wonder if he got a lot of negativity from the press day.

The Times article has a quote. It isn't letting me copy it here.

Sorry but this show looks like a stinker. What a waste of a big Broadway house.

Do we know who wrote the score for the show? I couldn't find it on their website.

Thanks. I just googled them. Bob and Bill have done the music for other Cirque shows, but I haven't seen them. I hope their score is good. I wonder what the score would be like if Cirque had gotten a team who had done Broadway shows before.

Well that 'big Broadway house" hasn't had a show that made a dime in it in a very long time. A shame about Bradley Dean, but honestly replacing an actor late in rehearsals or in previews is not unusual. The directors and producers usually are hoping a performance will eventually come together but there sometimes comes a point where you can't hold out anymore if it just isn't working.

That piece from Mr Ridge certainly doesn't have me rushing out for a ticket-could do without that 7 Brides number.
Is it like a travelogue around all the different styles of musicals with cirque stunts intergrated?

It looks tacky and terrible honestly. Like they're trying to do a big old fashioned revue but without any of the glamour or style.

yes because the press clips for American psycho looked awful, meanwhile everyone on here for the most part is raving about it, seriously they have 2 more weeks before previews even start....

Well, I'm a big fan of Bradley Dean and his work, and he was the main reason I was considering seeing this. Such a shame!

I'm a longtime fan of Jeremy Kushnier, so I'm pretty happy for him!
