Todrick as Ogie is extremely bizarre casting. It's only a short stint before he tours and then does Kinky Boots again in California in February/March. Just can't see him pulling this off.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
This is... literally... the weirdest casting I’ve ever heard of... I have tickets for their first week so I’ll see how it is! Hoping to be pleasantly surprised!
Todrick AND Colleen? There will be a jump in ticket sales for the limited run, and will most likely go back to what it was before Shoshana joined. The YouTube fans will be coming out for them, especially together. Smart decision financially, actual casting-wise it could be better.
Maybe I'm out of touch, but I don't know if these names are really going to change the ticket sales much more than Shoshana Bean and Jeremy Jordan. While these people are big YouTube names and Todrick has his cred from Drag Race/Kinky Boots too, I wonder how many fans are actually in New York. I don't know if these are draws that will get people to travel. It might nab a tourist or two that knows them on the TKTS line, but I don't know if that will beat out the shows based off of more popular films. This does lead me to believe they may not have a "name" coming in for Jenna. I have no problem with that because Stephanie Torns is amazing and anyone would be lucky to see her.
There's NO historical data that shows he'll mean a thing at the box office. Kinky Boots and Chicago never grossed more than 70% when he stepped in, with the exception of Xmas weeks. Maybe he and Ballinger mean a little more combined (to a young/cheap audience), but I cannot see this moving the needle.
I don't see the show closing with these two. I think it sticks it out during the Fall and Sara returns to close it by New Year's.

To me, it kinda makes more sense for Colleen to join the tour. She's had success in touring, so people would be more willing to see the show for her, if she goes to their town. I've seen in her videos that she would like to continue to tour with her son, so maybe she would like to tour with this show for a bit. IDK I guess producers want to see if she can bring in money in NYC first
I'm more offended that "Miranda Sings" just isn't that funny to me, but as with most YouTubers, there's a past...
YouTube sensation Collenn Ballinger had issued an apology over "disgusting" remarks and jokes made in unearthed videos.
Taking to her channel, Colleen published a video titled "addressing everything", in which she ran through a catalogue of old material that she now feels was entirely inappropriate.
She said: "A video has resurfaced of my sister and I from 14 years ago, we were teenagers, and in this video we were doing characters that are Latina.
"The characters are completely based on racial stereotypes, it's not funny and it's completely hurtful."
She added: "Racial stereotypes are not funny. They are not a joke and should never be joked about."
She goes on to address comments relating to overweight people, putting a dog down, etc...
