I miss this show on Broadway. First time I saw it in 2016 was in DC. I went alone and the person next to me went alone. By the finale we had grabbed each other's arms, both in tears. We still keep in touch and have seen multiple shows together when I go to DC or he comes to NY. A transformative musical that reassured my faith in human nature (during a terrible year for the world).

It has infected Into the Woods, though less so the night I was there with all originals in, and certainly That Show On Its Second Star. That said, the CFA performance was stellar, and Colella was especially superb, the reason I was there. (Though -- minority opinion -- I still wish her number had a button; we're desperate to honor it. The song features the most heart-stopping moment in the show for me, "And the one thing I loved more than anything/Was used as the bomb.")."
Irene & David purposely didn't had in breaks for applause except for after "Welcome to the Rock", Screech In" & the "Finale". Agree that that's a flaw in the show. Today, several people gave Colella a standing O, but had to sit down quickly as there is no break to warrant one.

What were you expecting then to pass out besides Playbills?

DEH did custom closing hats they passed out to everyone on the way out.
OOTI gave out ziploc bags to take home sand.
It’s not entirely unheard of.

"Going back to the noise problem, it was an issue during both speaking and singing. Literally like drunk people screaming at the top of their lungs with whoops and cheers. A friend in the orchestra said it wasn’t that bad down there."
It was horrible, and negatively affected the entire show. There were a group of them, but one person in particular "woo-ed" through the entire show, even at inappropriate moments {Hannah's "I Am Here"}.
. Don't EVER be that person.

Maybe so, but it certainly isn't common.

While it's not unheard of, no one should go to a first preview or closing performance expecting something to be handed out

Seeing the real Come From Aways and Newfoundlanders last night was a gift itself. They're all so proud of this show.

Aside from the show, that was the most magical moment of the evening. So incredibly special to see all of them. I do regret not speaking to any of them before the show as I did get there relatively early

I certainly wasn’t expecting anything! Like I said, with the closing of DEH so recently it was hard not to compare the two closing experiences. Thought it was worth a note for anyone who may have been curious.

Nick and Diane Marson just posted on Twitter that they tested positive for COVID. Anyone who talked to them should probably take a COVID test on Thursday or Friday just to be safe.

The show had a huge after party which included all cast members, current and alumni, all crew and all Come From Aways and Newfoundlanders.

Not only did all attendees have to provide a same-day negative test, they were testing attendees in front of Haswell Green's for those who had not yet been tested. It just goes to show how one day you don't have it, to another day you do.
