I don't think "Angry Dance" is good at all. It just wouldn't make sense when taken out of context. And what about all those stories that the ballet girls were going to get to perform? I just can't see this appealing to people who aren't familiar with the story.
Well, it'll showcase the Billys dancing. The choreography is thrilling in that number. But I too would have preferred "Solidarity," although it's like an eight minute number.
I hope they fit Jen in somewhere... It would be a shame if she isn't performing on the telecast.

Is anyone else wondering if they'll have Jenifer sing Gabe's part in 'I am the one'?
I was just thinking that! Hmm... it would be kinda weird, but I'm sure they could make it work.

I highly doubt they'd do that.
That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

Adamgreer, are you at the show tonight (you posted the pic of the board, right)?
I'm not at the show tonight....that pic of the board which I posted was a mobile upload from a friend's facebook.
I'll be there tomorrow night, though.

Well, I don't appreciate having my ideas called stupid... but I just happened to randomly think of that, and from the perspective of the creative team it would definitely be a good idea if they can make it work somehow.

I don't understand that idea really... the lyrics in the song don't really apply to Natalie at all. I feel like they would just do another song that featured Jenn if they wanted to feature her that badly.

"the lyrics in the song don't really apply to Natalie at all"
Does that really matter to the non-theatre loving audience at home... well really, Jenifer doesn't matter to them either... but that's just a random thought of mine.
It's weird because someone asked Alice on her Facebook page what they were performing at the Tonys and she said "You Don't Know."
Are they not doing "I Am The One" as well? I had just assumed they were but Playbill.com and Alice's FBook and most other press releases have just listed "You Don't Know" and not "I Am The One."
I'm still assuming they're doing both "You Don't Know" and "I Am The One"...maybe without Aaron? There's a clip of N2N rehearsing their number on NY1.com and I see Spencer and Ripley but no Aaron...maybe he's just offstage or maybe he's not in the number. (Edited: I think he's offstage...if you listen carefully, it sounds like "You Don't Know," which he's not onstage for.)
Do you think they'll have to shorten one of the numbers? Altogether, the performance would run about 4:45 if they didn't cut down...is that too long or does that seem about right?

"You Don't Know" is only like 1 minute and 40 seconds. That wouldn't make sense.
Perhaps it's due to discrepancies with song titles, how they are in the score/script and how they are released on a CD or to the public. For example, the finale of Hair is often credited as "The Flesh Failures (Let the Sunshine In)" when in fact it's a sequence of three musical numbers: "The Flesh Failures," "Eyes Look Your Last," and "Let the Sunshine In." Maybe what we know as "I Am the One" is part of the "You Don't Know" sequence. That's my guess.

If you watch this video, you'll see that they are definitely doing I Am the One in conjunction with You Don't Know.

I still wonder if Aaron is going to be in it, or if his part has been cut.
Just got back from the dress rehearsal. The actual lineup is:
Opening - A big, looong medley, starting with Elton singing Electricity as the three Billys dance, and including a bunch of (slightly strange) pairings from "Luck Be a Lady" with the "Tonight" quintet to Stockard Channing and Aaron Tveit singing together, ending with Hair and eventually everyone else singing "Let the Sunshine In."
Shrek - "What's Up, Duloc?"
Guys and Dolls - "Sit Down, You're Rocking the Boat
Rock of Ages - "I Wanna Rock" and then "Don't Stop Believin'"
West Side Story - "Dance at the Gym"
Next to Normal - "You Don't Know/I Am the One"
Billy Elliot - Trent doing a solo "Angry Dance"
Hair - "Hair"
Last number - Neil Patrick Harris doing "Tonight" with modified lyrics about the winners (we were all trying to figure out if he'd really just given away a bunch of Tony winners or if Marc Shaiman is going to be sitting backstage furiously inserting winners into the lyrics as the show goes on)

I'm shocked they are just having one Billy go on. It had to be changed because when the nominations first came out the ballet girls were told they would be performing.
I was really surprised as well. I kept expecting the other two to pop up at some point in the performance, but no dice. All three are in the opener, though.
Also, I forgot the touring shows. Mamma Mia is doing "Dancing Queen," Legally Blonde "So Much Better," and Jersey Boys "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" into "Oh What a Night," featuring the Frankie Vallis of five different productions.
Wait, why does BroadwayPulse say that Billy is doing Solidarity?
"Elton John standin introduces Billy Elliot number Solidarity Forever. Number looks great tapping up a storm + bringing the house down #tonys"

That would make more sense with the Ballet girls, because as per some Ballet girls' statues on Facebook (not including names) they are still going on tonight.
Maybe Rob was confused because there are little snippets of Solidarity mixed in with the Angry Dance? I'm not blind, and I've seen the show, so I know what I saw.
Oh no Scott, it wasn't that I didn't believe you, I was just a little confused.
Agrees w/ Wicked... "N2N should def do "Just Another Day" or "Light"--- You gotta have Jen there !!!
