Of the four musical nominees, I literally left each of them saying, "this deserves a Tony for costumes." Is there even a frontrunner this year? I thought they were all incredible. (...I have no idea who to pick on my ballot.)

I honestly liked Anastasia's the best but I think it's the least likely to win.

I am here for The Little Foxes. I was rooting for more costume changes.
As for musicals, sadly I have not seen Anastasia or War Paint yet. I did love the Great Comet costumes but I feel like that's a category they could easily lose unless the Tony voters want to give them a sweep. The War Paint costumes do look gorgeous and if we're talking glamour, I think they have the edge on Great Comet.

I really love all the little details Paloma Young put in the Comet costumes.

Paloma Young 100% deserves it for Comet. The level of details on each individual piece, the thought that went through to reflect each character's personality, and the overall contribution to the design (that gorgeous set would have been nothing without those costumes populating it) justify that Tony.

I'd be very happy if Linda Cho won. Her designs for Anastasia are gorgeous. But there's no bad design in the bunch. Very memorable costumes this year.

Since there's no real front-runner for musicals, I'd give the slightest edge to Comet only because the costumes have to look super good from the back of the mezzanine and literally centimeters from your face (when I went the first time Amber Gray smacked me in the arm with her skirt), and I think the amount of detail Paloma had to put into all of them was amazing.

I think all the designs are really wonderful, but I'd pick Young as well. Loquasto's are lovely, but he had the blueprint of the original production to work from, and Zuber's designs are period clothing with inspiration from the actual two ladies, sumptuous though those designs are. Young had to create a visual language for Great Comet from scratch to match the anachronistic nature of the storytelling, and I think she did so beautifully. Natasha's white coat, in particular, is a stunning, instantly iconic design that's up there with Dolly's red dress. Based on pure inventiveness and originality, she should take it.

Zuber's costumes in War Paint were pure spectacle! Every time Patti or Christine entered in a new costume it was breathtaking! Every look was its own special moment and also strengthened the narrative about each lady. The costumes had character themselves making you understand these women intimately. I'm a huge War Paint fan so I'm a little biased, but I really think Zuber should win and I think she's the favorite to win too!

Loved War Paint's costumes but Comet's costumes were extraordinary. Not my favorite show but beautiful to look at.

I saw Comet twice: first from the mezzanine and second from one of the onstage tables, and I completely agree with you! (Unfortunately, I did not get smacked by one of the dresses, even though my spot was the prime target.) The way Natasha's coat shines under the "light" of the blue moon when she sings "the mooooon!" was such a great moment.
It's definitely a fantastic Broadway season for costume design in musicals. I'd like to give an honorary mention to Clint Ramos's costumes for Sunday in the Park with George as well.

I thought dolly had beautiful costumes. I wouldn't count out Santo Loquasto. (Although, according to my costume designer friend, they weren't historically accurate, neither were Hamiltons.)

Like Vintage Snarker, I am here to root for ''The Little Foxes'' ... and to see Jane Greenwood win her 1st Tony after 21 nominations that date back to 1965. The other night, Greenwood finally won the Drama Desk after 7 previous nominations. Maybe this is really Jane's year!

I think that The Little Foxes are certain to win for costumes. They're sublime.
As for musical, I would be equally happy to see it go to The Great Comet, Hello, Dolly!, or War Paint. They all have equally incredible designs and I could give you a billion reasons why each one should win. I would give my vote to The Great Comet simply because Paloma's costumes are so anachronistic and detailed. I think her costumes really are stunning, but at the same time Zuber's costumes are so lush and elegant, while Loquasto's were loud and colorful. I would be happy to see any of them win.
