she wishes she was young enough to play Elle woods. seems to me ms Bundy did an EXCELLENT job as miss KC's understudy. maybe we are thinking in the wrong manner... hmmmm?
Shut up.

Kristin Being HILARIOUS at Drama Desk Awards
Making fun of the blind is neither very Christian nor hilarious. She should be ashamed. The dog sounded better than her.
Kristen does not want to be Elle....
Kristen WILL NEVER BE ELLE.
LBB did an ok job as her standby....some have not heard the stories.
Hility would be a good person to replace Laura.
Again....Cheno will not be Elle....EVER.
and the drama desk was ehh...she had some better ones that night.
I haven't seen Legally Blonde, but is there really that much dancing in it? Is Laura Bell Bundy really a dancer?
Fundamentally, I don't have a problem with Kristin's dancing, but I am no expert. I happen to be a big fan of Kristin's vocal work (hence my user name), but from what I've heard of the score, it would be wasted. Acting? Sure she could do it and probably well, but I don't think it really matters as her heart is (sadly) not really apparently in the theatre world right now.

You'd have to give her a high D at the end of "There Right There". Would that sound cool?
"There, Right There" is in G at the end, isn't it? It is in the workshop score. Just give her a megahigh G.
Could Chenowith play Elle Woods?
Of course she could. And it would be an improvement.
She is so lucky she is not saddled with that horible script and those horrible songs. She had the sense to know that musical would not work.
So why would she want to play Elle Woods? Better she should play Mama Rose--- I mean Bernadette Peters did.
I think shes could definately play Elle, but I don't think she ever would play the role.

If Kristin can play Elle, so can....
Chenoweth was offered the role when the creative team first began to get the initial material together about three years ago (shortly after she opened in "Wicked.") The idea was to build the show as a "spoof" of sorts with all of the characters cast older to match Kristin.
Though Chenoweth found the prospect of turning the movie into a Broadway show to be a good one, she thought any concept needed to make her believable as Elle would diminish the quality of the piece and therefore turned it down.
thank god she turned it down.
yeah, cheno is definitely too old now, but i'm sure she would have been adorable in it
however, she is better than that, and as much as i love her cute act, i want to see her do something else!!! that's why i love audra and christine because they are just soooo versatile!

Megahigh G? SHE COULD NEVER hit it. I never heard her hit it once.
I heard it end with a B on the OBCR. If I had my druthers, I'd hear her hit a high D on the "HOORAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!" at the end.
Wow. There is some hostility towards KC, here. I think she is one of the finest performers ever to grace a Broadway stage and yes, she is a young woman. No, she's not 22 like Elle Woods is supposed to be (and neither is LBB), but she also carries herself with sophistication as well as quirkiness. LBB, imho, while she has the right energy, has a darkness about her that makes you not want to root for the character. She's someone who has a lot of technical talent, but lacks soul as well as uniqueness.
Sorry to get on the KC soapbox. KC probably thought she was herself too mature for this role. The show is a good way for new performers to cut their teeth, but KC's kind of beyond that sort of crappy musical.
KC does seem to create inspiration, though. I did hear the music for LB (I just noticed--LB, LBB? Weird. That's like Lauren Graham playing Lorelai Gilmore--same inititals...*cricket*) )was written with her in mind, as was the role of Glinda. She also inspired the character of Harriet on Studio 60. She's the Rosanna Arquette of the Bwy/Sorkin circle. :)
I like LBB, but I think she's a little creepy, and I get a "I f*cked my way to the top" vibe from her. Yeah, I know...mrwowr, jealous much, etc. That's just an observation and I have no way of knowing either way.
I love Kristin, and I DO think that she could pull it off, but she is just a little too old for the role. I always think that she was right in thinking that it would not work as a musical, because it does not.
If she had taken the role, she could have pulled it off nontheless.

If you do not know facts you have NO RIGHT to say anyone f***ed their way to the top. This stupid crap needs to stop NOW. Laura has been in showbuisness since she was 5. I would think that prospect would be hard to do at that age. And wouldn't Jerry enjoy the laugh of someone saying that about MISS BUNDY. That was very rude and uncalled for. If you do not see LBB's talent thank GOD you are not a talent scout or coordinator.
I think the music was written around Kristen's voice so that all of the Galinda replacements would have a show to go to once they'd be in every Wicked cast.
~Jacob.
lindas13 (or LBB herself maybe? Or her mom?), I said very plainly that it was my opinion and observation as such, not a fact. Speaking of facts, how in the world would you know whether or not I worked in casting? Anyway, I said very plainly that I see LBB's talent, I just don't think it merits much. How are your bitchy comments (she WISHES she could play the role) not "rude and uncalled for"?
You're not terribly bright, so I'll give you a pass on this one. I won't post further about this, at least not to you.
And, scene.

Yes, somehow I doubt there were sexual favors involved in Ms. Bundy's casting in RUTHLESS at age 10.
As for her understudy, Ms. Britney Spears, who knows?

nope not miss bundy nor her mom... I could wish but no. I merely said I hoped you were not a coordinator etc. I did not say you weren't, just I hoped not. I just feel personally stating my opinion that miss bundy is talented. I felt my statement about KC was prob bitchy but I would say the same about any performer that was almost 40 playing the part of a 20 something. And I do not consider myself an extremely smart person about showbuisness but want you to know I AM VERY BRIGHT. Honestly KC cracks me up. and I KNOW she is extremely talented..and her humor is great. I bet if someone interviewed her about playing ELLE she would even say, I wish... meaning everyone usually knows the parts they can play or maybe play off. but I NEVER would say something so crude and certainly not bright like someone f***ed their way to a part. you my dear girl, boy, woman, man,or child that you are ....ARE NOT TO BRIGHT!
And looking at your... creative use of the English language, I think we could safely say that you aren't "to" bright yourself, dear. :P
I'd love to see Diana DeGarmo as Elle. After her great job as Penny in "Hairspray" she just might be ready to shine in the lead.
She would be AMAZING in this role (who cares about the age??). I would LOVE LOVE to see Cheno back to Broadway, but in a role that she doesn't ususally play. I want her to show everyone that she is not just a one trick pony. Anyone get me?
