Per ATC, David Merrick must be alive and well and living in David Ian's house.
The new Grease print advertisment apparently has the phrase "The One That I Want" repeated numerous times, attributed to the major papers. I guess the critics, in their infinite wisdom, never figured that the press team would be able to pull out a quote when they mentioned the title of the tv show, "Grease: You're The One That I Want" in their reviews.
::Rushes to the newsstand to look for this.::

That's hilarious! The funniest quote ad I ever heard about was when the British sex farce Run For Your Wife was briefly on Broadway.
They had a Sunday quote ad with the top quote attributed to the New York Times. All it was was the title of the play with a exclamation point at the end.

Well as far as I know, at least Merrick ( odd looking as he was) was "all natural", with the exception of maybe a bad dye job, and not as manufactured looking as Mr. Ian

How many people are really going to fall for that ad?
I really expected Kathleen Marshall to put together something very entertaining based on her previous work on other shows (especially the choreography). Who'd have thought that she could ruin Grease?
I noticed that Austin was conspicuously absent from the opening (as was Derrick) and he must be thankful he's not associated with this mess.

Actually, Barnes in the POST correctred them and said
"YOU'RE THE TWO THAT I WANT"
He should sue, they are ridiculous, all that ad does is point out they have very few quotes they can really use.
