I love the YouTube videos! Who is he?
Here's what I'm thinking...is it a publicity stunt for Xanadu's Tony odds? Ala Avenue Q's "Rod's Dilema?"
I wonder...

He looks VERY familar - I know I have seen him on TV/film before.

Douglas Carter Beane has said it's not him...though that doesn't mean it's not the producers of the show re: Cubby Bernstein...who is this kid?

I know this child!! I have worked with his Mother, many times.

His real name is Adam Reigler.

he was the Young Shrek in many of the developmental readings and is supposed to be playing Young Shrek on Broadway but that may have changed...

Does anyone else see correlation between Carmen Burnstein and cubby Berstein?

I think he's the love child of Marrisa Jared Winoker and Nathan Lane if that's possible.

Absolutely BRILLIANT campaign. And the nominations weren't even announced a week ago.

Probably one of the greatest marketing campaigns I've ever seen.

I open up the NY Times, and I see an ad for Xanadu, saying "YES IT CAN." I started cracking up.

Go, Cubby Bernstein, Go!

As others have already said, this campaign is brilliant.

And not only that, it's cute, clever, and extremely funny. I mean they got Duncan Sheik, Carole Shelley, and John Cullum in interview seats! How great is that?!

I just love it and look forward to upcoming segments.

All this does is give us theatre geeks something to laugh about. Looks like the producers are bored over there.

Nobody with any real opinion is going to take this seriously. Actual Tony votes are not swayed by stuff like this. They are swayed by the quality of the show (for the most part). Like the show itself, it's a joke. Although I admit, Cubby Bernstein is funnier than any other joke in Xanadu.

"Actual Tony votes are not swayed by stuff like this."

1) Perhaps stuff like this isn't the deciding factor for voters, but it sure does make them talk about the show and hopefully builds hype. It did for AVENUE Q.

"They are swayed by the quality of the show (for the most part)."

2) Hahahahahahaha!

There is no such thing as "hype", it's something that bloggers and people like us make up.

Avenue Q was hands down a better show than Wicked, which is why it won. Not because of some cutesy Tony campaign.

Xanadu is not the best show this year, hands down. It's that simple.

"There is no such thing as "hype", it's something that bloggers and people like us make up."

I don't know what you think "hype" means but I consider it to be a build of excitement. Concerning the "hype" of Best Musical:

In 2004, voters had to choose between BOY FROM OZ, CAROLINE OR CHANGE, WICKED, and AVENUE Q. None campaigned except for AVENUE Q. One could argue that the majority of votes were going to WICKED and AVENUE Q. Q was a show that was originally dismissed by many, just like XANADU was. When Q campaigned, it let everyone know that a) they wanted to win, b) to vote your HEART (vote for who you really think should win, not just the most commercial or the most universally POPULAR), and thus it became "OK" to vote for Q. They argued their case. Did it sway a huge amount of votes? Probably not - but enough to win? Yes. I argue that if they didn't have a campaign, they wouldn't have won.

And you know how many Tony voters that switched their vote because of the campaign exactly?

You need to watch the documentary Show Business the Road to Broadway all of this is talked about, and you can see how much that campaign helped Q to win the Tony. It’s all politics.
