Hercules on the West End, Greatest Showman in development, and Frozen west end streaming on Disney+?!

I'm shocked it took this long for Greatest Showman to officially be put in development. It seemed ripe for a stage adaptation the second it was released in theaters!

Disney Theatrical really has just got nothing going on does it? Greatest Showman is shockingly bad and incredibly stupid, I don't imagine that'll be helped by bringing it to the stage. Frozen is a dud of a show. Hercules seems neat, I do like how it looks but really? This is the best that they've got to offer?

They won’t be the west end cast- this is just a lazily put together article.

 

Also can people stop saying ‘On the West end’ - it’s incorrect. It’s ’In the west end’

They should really put together another review-type show.  They had a dud years ago with On The Record. But there's so much potential for something better.

The Greatest Showman film grossed just under half a billion worldwide and the score is by 2 of the most well known and beloved contemporary Broadway writing teams — but sure, you find it “shockingly bad and stupid”.  You seem to be slightly “detached from reality”.  Perhaps you and Bway Flash should start a cover band and perform only songs written by MJ LaChiusa, Adam Guettel and Jason Robert Brown!

PS —as I’m typing this, in the background I hear “This Is Me” playing as the commercial jingle for Wegovy!

And as we all know, when something makes money that means it's good and when it doesn't that means it's bad! We really used our critical thinking to come up with that one!

Pasek and Paul write the blandest music in the modern era with no style of their own. They write music to be most the palatable to Middle America Wine Moms and teenage kids. The music that tries to be every genre under the sun to get that one hit and wouldn't you know? See your comment about 'This Is Me' being used to advertise ****ing Wegovy. A song that is LITERALLY "This is me, take or leave it." For a medication LITERALLY for weight loss.

Even divorced from the music, the movie is BAD! It's just bad.

I would agree that The Greatest Showman is far from my favorite movie/movie musical as well.  Quite honestly I don't even remember the music from it, nor do I really remember much from the plot.

That being said, I do like Pasek and Paul in some of their other works.  Not my favorite composers/writers, but still enjoyable in many ways. 

As a big musical fan, my friends were shocked by the "meh" response I had to TGS, but it is what it is.

If you genuinely think The Greatest Showman is a good movie, you simply have bad taste. That’s just the truth

I'll never understand the love for the music so much. It sounds nice but is painfully generic and bland.

Almost every song could be transplanted into another musical and you'd never notice. That is NOT good.
