Sorta sad, sorta inevitable. This cast is great though, so I hope there's a cast recording.

Does this all but guarantee that The Humans Broadway transfer will move into the Helen Hayes?

Sad, but not surprised, to see this one go. Right from the get-go I think this one was a tough sell, but I really enjoyed it.
Yes, I think it's very likely that The Humans will go in there.

Sad. Looking forward to where the six dynamos will land next. May have missed it but didn't see a mention that they are cast for the tour.

The tour is a year away. Doubtful anyone would be cast at this point....

How long before Lesli is back in Matilda?
Or maybe now that she's free we can finally get Zorro on Broadway? Pretty please?

this is almost certainly going to be a non union tour. the operating costs to tour it are low - small cast, small set, minimal number of stagehands, but they probably don't anticipate large crowds, so it most likely will go through small cities and will not even be a SETA tour cast-wise

They talked about bringing the Houston cast of Toxic Avenger to Broadway. Now Mara Davi would be available.

We just went to see it this past Saturday afternoon with our kids. The orchestra section must have been less than 1/2 full. I don't think I've ever seen such a low turnout at a show even ones that closed quicker than Dames. It's sad, because the show was entertaining with wonderful tap dancing, and the cast was great. I would recommend people do go see it before it closes.

Sad, but not unexpected. The dancing was great and with the exception of Eloise (who I personally did not think played the role right) I thought everyone was trying their hardest. The material was just not there. There's only so much they could elevate the very weak book and the average songs.

The nation is holding it's breath until 2017! It was an off B'way show that should have been produced off B'way. Even there- it probably would have flopped. Does everything really need to go out on tour? Direct from Broadway- the flop- Dames At Sea! JEEEEEZZZZZZZ.

I saw the show this past weekend. I saw a college production of it during my undergrad and thought it was cute with a paper-thin book. Still feel the same way. It's always great to see a new production of something attempted, but I can't help but wonder what many critics said: did we need this on broadway? It just seems like it had no chance of succeeding, despite the positives it had going for them.

What show isn't set to tour? Every show that announces a closing is set to tour - most never do. And these producers are really something else - rather than close now and save themselves few hundred thousand dollars, they close six weeks from now - why? So they can say they ran three months? I don't get it, but it ain't my dough.

It's my understanding that flop shows tour because often tour presenters are subscription based and a show that didn't do well on Broadway has a chance at making back more money with a downsized production and subscription based sales. Although in this case I don't see how they could downsize it anymore without just going back to the way it was staged originally.

It would have to be upscaled(is that a word?) if it wants to fit in touring houses.

I can just imagine Dames playing the St Louis Fox. Hell, you could stage the thing in a small portion of it train station size lobby. It is simply to slight to play normal size houses.

Let me guess. You didn't even see it so once again, you are just throwing a bunch of random words onto your computer screen to see if you can make a sentence, because God forbid there should be one thread where you don't make a comment. And of course once again, you don't know what the hell you are talking about.

To Matt
The wife and I used to care but now we do not. A friend saw Dames and did not care for it one bit. Oh well, we never had any intention of seeing it and now we know why. Do not bother to reply as I now have you on block. I am going to take my Metamucil now, which has a better personality than you. Nighty Night

I was going to to see Therese Raquin last night but I had a terrible day so I decided I needed a fun, light show instead and I went to see this. I just have to say, this cast really is giving it their all. They had an incredible amount of energy and threw everything into those performances. It was the emptiest Broadway house I've ever been in. I couldn't see the mezz but the orchestra was more than half empty. It must be so difficult to give that much to a performance 8 times a week, but I can't even imagine how much harder it is doing it for mostly empty seats. Kudos and thanks to them and thanks to them for giving me a fun, uplifting end to a crummy day.
Everyone has has been talking about Lesli Margherita and I agree she was great, but it was actually Mara Davi whose dancing stood out to me. I thought Eloise Kropp was cute and liked her performance, although her singing isn't as strong as the other two ladies.
Not a brilliant or ground-breaking piece of theater by any means but a fun send-up with fabulous dancing. Glad I saw it before it closes.
But yeah, I couldn't see this in the Chicago barns, I mean theaters, where the tours play. It would be dwarfed.
