Just watched the numbers again and I have a question.
Why didn't anyone tell Larkin and Benanti that they weren't on the stage of the St. James?
Every other performer tempered their numbers for the concert but they just did what they do on stage whuch came off as mannered and overacting.
I don't get it.
I am so glad I will have Loretta's performance to treasure, and Daniel Evans also.
You will never have a nice thing to say about anything related to the GYPSY revival.
I liked Allison Frasier and Lenora Nemetz.
CurtainPullDownder reminded me, I loved those commercials for Billy Elliot.

Did anyone in the NYC area possibly record this? I would love to see it. I completely lost track of time and forgot to record it. PM me if you can somehow make a copy for me.

I missed this! Is there a link to where I can watch this online? I couldn't see this on the CBS listings page.
I don't think Do Ya was the best song for Kerry and Cheyenne to sing. Kerry seemed to be screaming not singing.

If someone taped it, or has a link to the show, please PM me too!
Overall..the show screamed "DON'T WATCH THE TONYS!".
That being said...Daniel Evans, Passing Strange, and Gypsy (plus the Steppenwolf tribute) were BRILLIANT! A shame that Faith Prince was cut.
And Xanadu..between Kerry's screaming and deciding that a song NOT in the show is ok (subtext: our show sucks so let's sing a song that is not even in the ball park)..should seal the coffin that is the "hit".
I taped the show but am unable to watch it this minute. Can someone please post a list of what each show performed?
Is it on the web somewhere?
The cast of "Xanadu" singing Jeff Lynne's 'Do Ya' was soooo frikin' good. I heard somewhere it was originally in during the early readings, but then cut.
I think they should add it to the show, maybe at the end like they do in "Mamma Mia" after the curtain calls. That would be awesome
Loretta Ables Sayre gave me chills too... just spectacular.

If someone posts clips or has links to some place to watch it please pm me, they didnt show it in the Jacksonville area. Thanks!
Is it me or has Kerry Butler and Cheyenne Jackson's chemistry gotten even more intense this past year? I must make trip number 4 before he goes to do Damn Yankees.
Are there clips up yet?
I taped it on an old fashioned vcr, sorry sirnotappearing. I am not up to date on technology, no dvr for me. I am sure somebody will put it up or already has on youtube.
Saw the show yesterday in Florida....it was just okay. And I agree with curtainpulldowner that the number from GYPSY didnt work because they didnt
alter the performance to fit the 'concert style' of the show....so what they did seemed
really odd. Whatever. Everything about the GYPSY revival is. I loved the Do Ya number that the Xanadu cast performed. Interesting choice. Also nice to see Mauzey sing Screw Loose for the camera--perfect!
I watched it this morning here in Denver. Regarding Larkin and Benanti, I thought they were great. They sounded the best and, um, well, they are actresses! I loved what they did. Finishing the Hat was my favorite. Glad they chose it.

I thought the Xanadu number was horriffic- worse than a Church Amateur Night performance-- and the Gypsy number wonderful- but no doubt bewildering if one hasn't seen the show at one time or another.
And, oddly, I thought the CryBaby number was the only song that made me want to go see the show.
I thought that Screw Loose didn't work AT ALL outside of the context of the show.
