I guess his trick had to get home for milk and cookies before bed.
Geffen: tons of money and no class.

People used to walk out of shows all the time. It's not a jail sentence, and if they're not being entertained then I think it's appropriate (as long as they don't create a disturbance for others who are watching). At least he waited until intermission.
They also used to give standing ovations only when they were deserved. Not an automatic reflex at the end of every Broadway show.

Posted: 6/16/11 at 12:01pmFriends have seen him leave early at other shows. He's a sleaze. Having tons of money does not make you a nice person. Barbra Streisand has also left shows at intermission. She probably didn't like the way she was lit from her seat.

"PS At least Geffen stayed until the intermission. Barbara Walters walked out of “Spider Man” a half hour into its first act on Tuesday night. Is this a trend?"
LOL! Love it!

So, fflagg, only rich and famous people who you dislike walk out of shows. Gotcha.

Posted: 6/16/11 at 12:22pmAnd referring to whoever Geffen was with as a 'trick' and the little 'milk and cookies' remark is the height of class?

Posted: 6/16/11 at 12:25pmWell, it is David Geffen... might as well acknowledge what's already widely known, rather than believe everyone is Hayley Mills or June Cleaver.

Posted: 6/16/11 at 12:27pmOr perhaps FFlagg is nettled by the fact that David Geffen is bored with ass that she couldn't even get a whiff of.

1. "whom" not "who"
2. this is a forum for opinions on issues and people of the day, right? if you don't agree with my opinions, then that is your opinion. Fine and God bless.
I love how so many people here cannot "talk" about things in a mature way without making personal attacks.

And it's not just one in a series of thinly veiled homophobic remarks by fflagg?
You deserve ever verbal lashing you get.

So, you think your comments about Geffen are the height of maturity?

"Friends have seen him leave early at other shows. He's a sleaze."
My, but you have unsual standards to qualify someone as a sleaze.

Not every criticism of a gay man is thinly veiled homophobia, and some on this board really shouldn't fall back on that lazy crutch of an accusation every time a poster is deemed to have gone beyond the pale. Hugh Heffner is prominent heterosexual icon who has also been derided over his choice of "romantic" partnerships that are more likely based on money and opportunity than on attraction or love, so your concern has been noted but can be stowed (and I think you know where).
This is the internet, folks. Stream-of-consciousness diatribes and unfiltered opinion is what differentiates this medium from any other, for good or for ill. If you want "polite," go find a tea party.

"Not every criticism of a gay man is thinly veiled homophobia"
Absolutely true. But this is specifically about fflagg's continued derision of gays on this and the off-topic board. It happens often and should be called out each and every time.

Posted: 6/16/11 at 1:23pmI think people should definitely defer to the person who has been here for less than two months. Who needs the educated opinions of people who know the history and context of fflagg's posts? Why, this is the internet, etcetera.

Namo, I think you should capitalize the "I" in internet.
AND "etcetera" is two words, therefore a space between the t and c would be correct.
AND, could you please direct me to the Empire State Building? Or should just go f**k myself?

This whole thing is beyond bizarre- he left at intermission. So? It's not like he stormed out mid-scene. He went out at intermission and didn't come back. There is no story. He was with a "good looking young man." OK. And? I miss journalism.
It's not until you get to words like "trick" and the assumption his companion wanted "Milk and cookies" that it starts to get a little skeevy.
