Davis is Mrs. Muller in 'Doubt' Film

"Viola Davis is set to play Mrs. Muller in Miramax's screen adaptation of "Doubt," John Patrick Shanley's Tony-winning play.

Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman star in the film that was written and is being directed by Shanley. Amy Adams also is in negotiations to star.

Scott Rudin is producing along with Mark Roybal, and Celia Costas is executive producing..."

What a great break for her. I am kind of surprised they did not go with a bigger name, but I am sure she will be great.

I do hope they use Adams, too. I thought she was set.

I don't get Hollywood. Meryl Streep is already filming scenes for the film and they don't have a full cast yet? I'm thrilled they're using Viola Davis. Can't wait to see this.

I killed the boss, you don't think they're gonna fire me over a thing like that!!!!

I don't get Hollywood. Meryl Streep is already filming scenes for the film and they don't have a full cast yet?

Mrs. Muller is only in one scene in the play; why shouldn't they get started?

Great news and fantastic casting! Davis is one the very finest and most underrated actors out there (she was stunning in her Tony-winning turn in KING HEDLEY II, as well as in INTIMATE APPAREL, SEVEN GUITARS and EVERYBODY'S RUBY) and I'm so happy she's getting such a high profile role.

Fabulous choice.

I saw Viola Davis about 10 years ago in Williamstown Theater Festival's production of "A Raisin In The Sun" and thought she was FANTASTIC!

I'm as jumpy as a virgin at a prison rodeo!
