I sat in the front row center for DEAR EVAN HANSEN, and it was too close. The stage is high, and the seats are extremely close to it. My neck was sore after the show from looking up the entire time. The only advantage to sitting there is being able to see Ben Platt's physical performance up-close, but, when I see the show again, I'll definitely want to sit further back.

Worst case scenario, they don't arrive and the box office prints you out pretty ones.

Exactly, and a real ticket makes a much better memento than a piece of paper.
Very true. I have a theatre souvenir box with my tickets from over the years.
Will wait and if they don't come by tomorrow then will call. (I just feel better with them in my hand which is why I selected e-ticket)

I wasn't in the mezzanine, but maybe someone who's been up there can answer that. In any event, rest assured that your tickets are good, and, honestly, if for some reason you're in regular chairs, you'll probably be more comfortable. Tickets for DEAR EVAN HANSEN take a little longer to email because of fraud protection, but if you getting anxious, call Telecharge and have them switched to Will Call. I'm really glad you're able to see it! Have a great time! "
Thank you so much. You've been very helpful here, and also on the other threads. "

Awww, thanks Lot, I appreciate that.
mmFan said: Yeah...not sure but they popped up on telecharge when checking. And these were the only 2 seats showing in that section in back 2 rows. As mentioned (after my post) I did notice that StubHub has tickets for the remaining seats in those 2 rows so only thing I can think of is they reserve them for third party and maybe StubHub "returned" them so they showed in the system (but why not even show on the map?)? They only popped up briefly when the next set of seats popped up in searches (i.e. I was checking constantly and then all of a sudden a bunch of non-premium showed up). Yesterday was 3 days before."
Thanks for the tip. I've been watching Telecharge and Stubhub like a hawk for tickets in May myself. Any suggestions at this point is appreciated.

As per bear and CT2NYC's suggestion...keep checking often...especially starting 4 days before your show. The non-premium seats opened up at 3 day mark around 3:30pm. I think I remember reading 3pm was a time for someone else too. Good luck. StubHub was my backup plan (night before we left by instant download or pick up day of).

For Telecharge, the best bet is the 4-day trick, which, in reality, varies from 3 to 5 days (tickets for today's matinee were released last Friday). My best advice is to sit tight, and keep your schedule open and flexible. Hopefully, if Telecharge continues this practice of releasing seats, options will regularly present themselves. For example, $189 seats are available right now on Telecharge for both shows this Saturday, 4/29.

The 'four-day trick' isn't necessarily four days exactly. It was for me, and I noticed the pattern when other people were getting tickets and posting about it in DEH threads.
I live on the West Coast, so we got tickets for a Wednesday night show on a late Saturday morning. Adjust that for the East Coast. But I agree with CT2NYC (again). Start checking Telecharge regularly five days in advance. Check even more four days ahead. That's usually the best day. Three days can work, too.
It seems hopeless, and pointless, if you start too soon.
By the way, the high stage is the only thing I don't like about the Music Box Theatre, which is why I have warned about sitting too close. It was a small issue last year when my family saw Shuffle Along. The small size of most Broadway theatres forces you to think differently about what's a good seat. Sitting rear mezzanine for Hamilton last year seemed like a necessary sacrifice because of the cost, but they were actually good seats at the Richard Rodgers and allowed you to see the lights and staging.

They said eTickets can take 3 days (which is too late if I want to print before leaving for NYC) so I just had it changed to 'will call' as suggested on here. Thanks all.

I was there last night night in Row H in the centre and I think that row is a perfect distance from the stage. You get a great view of the whole stage yet are close enough to see the tears roll down the actor's cheeks. I always forget how intimate Broadway theatres are so there really aren't bad seats in most of them...

Big Apple2, I'm not sure if you would be willing to do this since it is a very last minute option, but StubHub prices drop significantly about an hour or earlier before curtain. Fees are outrageous (25% of the ticket price), but the prices of tickets usually drop to about $140 on average, sometimes higher sometimes lower, so it ends up being about face value. However, I'm not sure how this pattern will change with Tony nominations. Friday and Saturday are the best days for StubHub prices to drop, at least that's what I've noticed for DEH specifically. All you have to do is buy them on the app and then pick them up at the StubHub LMS in NYC - super easy. Good luck getting tickets!

Yeah, I hear you - I bought my ticket back in December, when I finally came to the realization that I wouldn't be able to find a discount, so I got a bit lucky in that I didn't have to watch so closely. Anyways, it's a great show, and those should be great seats - have fun! :) And yeah, I visited a friend in LA and we watched King and I at the Ahmanson from the mezzanine and I was shocked at how far away the stage was!

Tuesday and Thursday are my only open nights to see this show the week after the Tony nominations are announced. Demand might go up then too. I was also hoping midweek would be slower and have better chances for tickets but the trends on Telecharge and Stubhub are not turning out to be that way.
Thank you all for all the suggestions. My goal is to see this show one way or another.

We saw Amelie at Ahmanson from the mezzanine, as well. Such a big theatre with no middle aisle. Good luck if one had to go the restroom in the middle of a peformance.

I've only been watching the past couple weeks but from what I remember Tuesday was the best in terms of Telecharge releasing the (non) premium tickets. Seemed to be more mid week.
I read someplace that the 4 day trick are really unsold seats normally reserved for wheelchair/disabled and their companions (up to 3 each). They just release them to the public as regular non oremium price tickets 4-5 days before performance.
so a way to find out if there will be any released 4-5 days prior try to call Telecharge if there are any disabled wheelchair seats on the day you're looking at.

You guys are the BEST! I have been watching and studying from this message board about the 3-4 day prior to the show and it worked! I was needing May 2nd ticket and watched all day yesterday and today. Well right at about 3:10 EST Non premium seats were open on Telecharge and was able to secure a $189 ticket fro 5th row Center Mezz on the aisle! (This is a good seat right?) I am super excited as I am flying in to cover the Tony noms and pumped to see this show the day the nominations are announced!
THANK YOU ALL FOR THE HELP!
Ps if anyone is needing May 2nd ticket, go now as there were scattered non premium tickets available!

I'm always happy to pass along the "4-day trick," and I'm thrilled that it worked for you. Now, you can pass it along, as well. And, yes, that's a great seat! Enjoy!
Woah! I saw DEH at Second Stage (loved it!) and wanted to bring my brother this summer, but I only see tickets for $300+ for mezzanine, $400+ for orchestra.
Anyone have any idea how to get tickets for less than that? Or is DEH now at that level?

mmFan, I'm glad you caught the show and enjoyed it so much (more than I did, but it's very well-performed and my feelings are mixed).
HBP, take a look at this thread. Yes, there have been ways to get cheaper, face-value tickets via what has come to be labeled the "four-day trick." I don't know if it will continue to work by the summer. There's also standing room only and the cancellation line if you have time (there are separate threads on both), and Stubhub if you're willing to wait until an hour or so before to get a better deal.
My assumption is that the show will remain a very tough ticket, not Hamilton-level tough, but difficult, especially if the show does well (as expected) at the Tonys.
That theater layout is screwed up in the telecharge system. I got what I thought (according to the seating chart) was an aide orchestra aisle seat to shuffle along. I get there and I'm stuck between 2 obese people. I was po'd
I'm back from seeing DEH and happy to report that as others said here, the mystery seats are just normal seats in row K and L. Out of curiosity would like to know why they are not shown on telecharge. They are not front row like I'm used to you (ha ha) so you can't see their expressions but they were a great view of the full stage. No issues with them...and sooo glad I got to go. I'm one of the ones that is a fan. Such a moving musical with beautfiul catchy music. I've been listening to the music non stop. Ben Platt was incredible as was the rest of the cast.
Hi! I was wondering, is it as harder to get 2 tickets 3-4 days prior to the performance? (harder than getting just one) Or they just release them one by one and not necessarily side by side? thank you for sharing your advice!!
