I know L. Morgan Lee has said numerous times that doing this show would be one of her dreams (although I’m not sure if she ever specified a role)
Who is writing it??
Either way, that's amazing casting.
And yes would be interesting with a trans angle to it.

I don’t see how this story is calling out for a “trans angle” at all. In fact, this is one movie that might translate directly pretty well.
Chenoweth should stay far away, but it’s going to need bigger stars than Hilty and Simard. Would’ve been a great vehicle for LuPone and Peters once upon a time..,
This is the kind of show I’d love to see Benanti in. Her humor would work so well with it.
^cant imagine anybody else to be honest. We can Dreamcast all the Broadway idols we want, few can handle this type of humor like Benanti can.
I’d love to see Benanti and Krakowski pair up again for this.
But also, who is writing this?!
Hannah Waddingham would be my top choice for the Meryl role (knowing nothing of the score). Renee Elise Goldsberry could kill it, too.
Who's doing the Bruce Willis part in the reading? Norbert? Chris Fitzgerald? Rob McClure? Danny Burstein? David Hyde Pierce? So many options.

See now, that’s the damn dream team for this show, should it happen. And give me Kudisch as Ernest and I’ll be in heaven.
Sofia Vergara in her Broadway return post stardom as the saleswoman? I can hear her delivering some of those famous lines with obvious relish.

Marco Penette is writing it.
Simard is hilarious and would/will be amazing. Norbert feels right for that character. Kristin feels too old for Madeline Ashton now but I do love the consideration of Megan. Though Jane Krakowski feels better suited.
whoever they cast better deliver the line "now a warning!" perfect as Meryl did in the movie

It may not require a “trans angle” because trans performers can play cisgender roles, if you didn’t know that.
I was just mentioning L. Morgan said she wanted a role in this.
